Question:
I know Snow White was deleted, sorry, 'returned to the vaults:dork:' last year, but what other titles have been deleted by Disney. Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations, Lady and The Tramp, and the Little Mermaid disappered over a year ago, but what else?
Am I correct in thinking that Beauty & The Beast will be gone sometime this year,(when anyone?).
Is that all or have more return to thegreat Disney vaults:gag: . Thanks for any help. :)
Tarzan, Pinocchio..... um... ET will vanish too
ET isn't a Disney film though...
:dork:
Pinocchio was deleted, but Disney have announced a new R2 SE for release March 3rd. Here are some details from R2 Project...
Special features will be:
"The search for Jiminy Cricket" - Help Pinocchio by being his conscience until you can find Jiminy Cricket. Visit various locations from the film, while answering questions to complete the task. If you succeed a surprise reward awaits
"Cat Nap Pluto" - This short is the reward for The Search for Jiminy Cricket Game. It features Pinocchio's Figaro and the loveable Pluto
"A Wish Come True: The Making of Pinocchio" - A short featurette about the making of the film. Features Walt Disney and Ward Kimball
""Figaro & Cleo"" Sing- along song - Sing along with some of your favourite characters from Pinocchio as the words pop up on screen
""Little Wooden Head"" Sing-along song - Sing along with one of the film's catchiest tunes as the words pop up on screen
""I'm no fool with fun & I'm not fool with fire"" - Jiminy Cricket teaches you about safety and having fun with fire in these educational pieces originally created for television
"Storyboard to final film comparison" - A split screen comparison featuring actual storyboards and the final film. See how closely the final film resembles the storyboards.
"Original 1940 Theatrical trailer" - Clips of the trailer from the original 1940 release
....Doesn't look that special to me, as I think this film is one of the studios true classics and deserves the same treatment as the Snow White/Beauty & the Beast Collector's Editions.
Still, at least it'll be easily available again.

Disney's best, can't wait
as i recall the 'big 10' are
snow white
beauty and the beast
lion king
aladdin
jungle book
lady and the tramp
little mermaid
101 dalmations
Bambi
Cinderella
which will all be released 1 a year for the next ten years then deleted. versions of those already released have been deleted and wont be released in other editions (i hear the jungle book is last on that list so s well worth picking up the OOP version)
any others deleted already (if there are any) will be released in regular versions with no plans of deletion.
I really want the Platinum Edition of The Jungle Book my favourite Disney film. It's actually the firts ever film I saw at the cinema when I was little.:smokin:
I always think that Disney's policy with regard to their titles has encouraged the amount of pirated DVD's that we see for sale on eBay all the time.
Does anyone know if the R1-R2 Disney release's are the same or does each region get different titles released at different times?

But Snow White is still available (as apposed to all the other titles you've mentioned) I just had it ordered from Amazon.ca about a week ago...
they printed huge numbers of snow white dvds, and they either didn't sell as fast as they hoped or they just planned to have enough sitting around for years to come.
guess we'll be able to tell which with beauty and the beast, if they sit around for ages afterwards it's a marketing strategy, if they dissappear pretty quick then we can assume they cut down the production run.
Thanks for all your help. I also found out the the Fantasia 3 Disc set has been deleted, although not sure about the singles.:)
