Question:
Has that delayed Phone Booth film been given any release date yet???
US & UK - 14th March
goo,d have been waiting for this film for a looong time
Cheers thanks for the info.
Oh good! So it'll come out after The Recruit then, but at least there is a date.
Roll up! roll up! for "The Colin Farrell Show" :p
The Recruit: US Jan 31st, then UK March 28th
Daredevil: US & UK Feb 14th
Phone Booth: US & UK March 14th
Veronica Guerin: UK May 9th
S.W.A.T. US August 8th
Intermission: US October 2003
Wonder if any of these will actually be "hits" and finally make him a proper "star"? Hope he isn't the male Julia Ormond! :shocker: (then again she couldn't actually act and wore the same toothy, quizzical, semi-retarded expression in each of her 3 rather pathetic "star making" movies!) but I digress...
But can Farrell act? To the level of top class projects he's managed to snag on very little evidence?
Don't let lust cloudst thy judgement! :)
To be fair to the guy, Tigerland was an excellent film and he was good in that. Good to see Shoemaker can do good films again! Picked it up for £8.99 in HMV sale.
ahh Phone Booth finally getting released
should hopefully be a goodun

too late! ;)
waaaay too late!! :p
but anyone who's seen "Tigerland" knows that my boy can act his chops off! :D
Seriously, how did he miss out on an Oscar nom?
The only annoying thing about Phone Booth is that it's a total copy of my good friend Paul Hough's short film "End of the Line" (1996 i believe) and he hasn't even been credited. This movie is a vailable online btw, I'll try and find it, but it's a great short which will probably give you an idea of what Phone Booth will be like.

If it's a close as this (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0285543) would indicate, tell Mr Hough to file a lawsuit! You can bet the Fox lawyers have been all over this anyway before "Phone Booth" went into production but if it is a violation your good friend would be owed quite a bit of money! ;)

That's where you can see the short.
As for Paul doing something in the way of lawsuit, I think the Fox lawyers scare him! Poor bloke, British btw!
For anyone who wants to see Phone Booth on the 25th February, Empire are doing free screenings in about 15 cities with UGC. The latest issue has the full listing.

oh come on! you are f'n kidding right?!
IF his original short has been used as the template for a feature, without any credit or remuneration then he has to do something about it! If he is able to prove that his film provided inspiration etc (and from the various festivals it played at I'm guessing someone from the studios saw it!??) then he is owed! Also the exposure could open all kinds of doors for him. The basic idea for his short and the feature is identical! Isn't the time between the 2 productions enough to suggest that possibly one had an influence on the other? he really needs to look into this pronto!
thanks for the link btw, gonna check it out now
edit - "end of the line" is fab! Excellent suspense there!
too many similarities to Phone Booth for your friend to not look into it though!! (he'd be crazy not to at least get the opinion of the right kind of lawyer!) - the location (New York!), the set-up (calling a lover / spouse!), the 'slick' lead character with the 'perfect' life, the passer-by who might get shot etc... I'd say it's as if someone has basically expanded the premise to have the plot stretch to 90 minutes...
I totally agree Richie.
