Collect Questions

After the Greatest Movies being repeated on Channel 4 over the weekend I was wondering what you guys though the best sequels were. Here's my short list:
Aliens
The Empire Strikes Back
French Connection 2
The Godfather, Part 2
The Good, the Bad and The Ugly
Project A, Part 2
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek: First Contact
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
I wonder if X-Men 2 and The Matrix sequels will be any good?



Mmmmm.... very good.
I'd very much agree with:
French Connection 2
The Godfather, Part 2
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (better than first)
Also Goldmember (although its a threequal)
Home Alone 2 (better than Home Alone)
Blair Witch 2 I thought was quite good (this choice will no doubt get slated)
Attack of the Clones



I always prefered Superman II to the original. I also liked Back To The Future II, though it wasn't as good as the original, it was better than a lot of sequels to classic films.
More recently, I prefered the second Harry Potter film to the first, but I have only seen each one once.
And, most controversally, I enjoyed Blair Witch 2 a lot more than the first, though I hated the first and didn't think the second one was brilliant.



House 3 - at least compared to the rest.
Hellraiser 5 & 6 - loved them!
Rocky II - almost as good as the original IMO

I have never understood how anyone found Goldmember (other than the opening credit sequence) remotely funny :confused:
But I have to agree with the already posted votes for :
Superman II
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (way better than #2)
Austin Powers: TSWSM



I enjoy watching Austin Powers 2 and 3 much more than I do the first film.
Goldmember was hilarious! :D

I never thought about Die Hard with a Vengeance and Toy Story 2, they're great sequels too!



T2, Back To The Future 2 and Godfather 2 all get my vote.
I'd go with Halloween H20 as well - strangely enjoyed that an awful lot.

Star Trek II, after the slow-motion picture that was the first Star Trek movie along came Star Trek II.
They went back to the roots of the show and took what made the show so watchable they also happened to pick a great villian.
Without the success of the second movie I doubt very much we would have had any more movies and perhaps not even any of the spin-off television shows (to some people this might not have been a bad idea ;) )
