Question:
http://www.cinecon.com/news.php?id=0212312
I used to say Die Hardest, when thinking up Die Hard sequel names ages ago, now it seems likely.
Willis I think didn't want to do another Die Hard after Die Hard 2, but came back for With A Vegeance, which I enjoyed alot. Because of a legal thing with a films title, Willis it seems has little choice not to do another Die Hard, so by luck or fate, we going to get another Die Hard film, one more time for Brucie to pick up the cop gun
I think the title Die Hardest, seems to suit the storyline Willis talked about some years ago, about there being a bunch of cops being hunted down or something, and that ties well with Die Hardest, which one will Die the Hardest etc.:D :D But that's just a theory, could be a different film.
NOOOO!
He's too old for that ****
What was the legal thing about?
Willis was involved in a wrangle over title for his new pic, Man Of War. Owners Fox agreed to release the name if Willis Committed to Die Hard 4. He Did
oops
?
I really hope they do not make this film! I thought the last one was a really poor effort compared to Die Hard 1 & 2, think they're just flogging a dead horse now :oh-hum:

I thought the last one was a really poor effort compared to Die Hard 1 & 2,
I've always thought of Die Hard 2 as the only naff film of the three. It's got a cack baddie and loads of cack effects, like obvious bluescreen/stuntmen moments (even an obvious 'dummy' moment!). Simply can't bear to watch it...
W A Vengeance on the other hand has a decent enough baddie and a really intriguing set-up (I loved the riddles and all the chasing around). If this new film is on a par with DHWAV, then I'll be happy.
What next? Die Hard 5:For The Love Of God PLEASE DIE!!!!!:oh-hum:
Die Hard 2 was rubbish but DHWAV was class and had the same director as the first.
Isn't this supposed to be set in the South American rainforest or something like that, with the possibility of McClane getting killed to finish the series off?
Must admit, it screws up the great R1 trilogy boxset though!
Hey, at least it's not "Die Harderer"...

No way, Die Hard 2 is ten times better than DHWAV (even though I like it also). Die Hard 2's villains are better and I thought the Skywalk setpiece was better than anything in DHWAV.
Roll on number 4 is what i say! :) :rocker:

errr ... The 13th warrior and rollerball not something that I would flout too regularly ... :dork:
It also looks like John McTiernan is at the helm again according to IMDb. Which can only be a good thing, as he's not exactly done a lot since The Thomas Crown Affair and must be aching to get back on track again.

I've also heard this, and from what i've been told + read he
gets eaten by sharks
now i don't want to believe that for a second, what a stupid way to die.
A m8 told me and i just took the ****, but then took the the internet and found a few hints to this conclusion.
God please don't let that happen.
This was on the radio a week or so ago. I think the idea of getting killed off is somethin Bruce willis suggested. Makes sense as he doesn't really seem keen on making more die hard films anyway......if Mclane dies, He can't get roped in for a fifth!
BTW...I think all the films rocked....:rocker:
DHWAV is cack compared to even DH2, let alone the first movie (the best action movie...ever!). The third pic is just too flabby compared to the tension that the other two rack up - it's just another 'buddy buddy' action flick. Only Sam Jackson's turn saves the third one for me, as I pretty much love everything that he's ever done (and that includes the new Star Wars movies). As for the fourth movie, it could be half decent as long as Bruce doesn't get saddled with a comedy sidekick - token white boy Owen Wilson had better watch out!
Die Hard With A Vengeance is good as a no brainer action film - as a part of the Die Hard series, it's about as good as the Godfather Part III was to the Godfather Trilogy.
The first one is definetely the best - I will be intrigued to see how the fourth one turns out, and whether McClane will finally be killed off.
DHWAV is a good film on its own but alongside the 1st 2 its poo
:gag:

They've actually gone back to Tears Of The Sun for the title now and released a trailer with that name so I don't know where that leaves Die Hard 4.
Confusingly, when they announced Die Hard 4 set in the jungle, that was based on a script also called Tears Of The Sun but I don't think the projects were related. That script was about a jungle kidnapping and this new one is a war film about a special forces team rescuing aid workers from a war-torn Nigeria.

I liked the 13th Warrior too. Not many "historic"/fantasy films made that are better. Maybe a recent trilogy about a ring or something, but I think that's just a fad!;)
Die Hard 10/10
Die Hard 2: Die Harder 7/10
Die Hard With a Vengeance 8/10
What's the story going to be about in Die Hardest? Are they still going to set in the jungle? I wouldn't have much hope for it anyhow!
I'm tired of sequels being made for profit instead of telling a story. At least when they make a sequel to continue a story it can be good, like Back to the Future.

You were joking, right?
imdb ratings:
Die Hard 7.9/10
Die hard2 6.7/10
Die Hard3 7.0/10
Settled.
I liked 13th Warrior as well. The way the langaige barrier was crossed was very well done, good fights, very enjoyable overall!
I don't think we'll see Die Hard 4 if its greenlit until 2005, no story or writer attached, very early. Then again been some great films made with scripts being written over the cource of the shoot, like The Fugitive with Harrison Ford.:D
Die Hard 2 was not rubbish. :oh-hum:
Anyway, a 4th Die Hard film.. what harm can it do? I hope so. The Die Hard films got me into action movies in a big way. They do offer some of the best Hollywood action around.
As the first 2 Die Hard movies were my first DVD purchases I equally love them both.
I found the way they recaptured the limited area from a skyscraper to an airport was well done - something that DHwaV lost being set in a city, but a good film as well IMHO.
I am very dubious about a 4th outing for Willis as McClane, I too don't think they could recapture the feeling of 1 and 2, plus he has gotten older since 3 and I fear that watching Die Hard 4 will be like Lethal Weapon 4 where both Gibson and Glover looked too old for their roles.
It'd be good if Bruce Willis' character does die in the new film, but I think they need to have him go out either in a blaze of glory, ie - Taking out the main bad guy by leaping into the path of a train with him, or something, OR in an ironic blaze of normality. ie - After surviving rocket launches, big spikey machines, guns, grenades, etc, he trips over a banana skin and falls out of an open window.
i'm sure I read somewhere that the new die hard would be based on the space shuttle...and that Bruce pegs it at the end!
Just read this on Dark horizons:
More details on Britney Spears' supposed role in the movie have emerged: "The movie is going to take place in the Caribbean, where John McClane accidently runs into his daughter, Lucy, who is a cabaret dancer. McClane has had very little contact with his daughter in the past 10 years. The movie will involve an villain of Japanese origin and an all-out rescue of Spears' character. (if she's confirmed to play the daughter). The surprising thing about the movie is that John McClane will use one gun in the movie and will fire itonly twice, the rest will be fist-fights"
Ha ha....:suspect:
The surprising thing about the movie is that John McClane will use one gun in the movie and will fire itonly twice, the rest will be fist-fights"
i was going to say this couldn't be any worse than die hard 2 (which is so bad it's against t+c's to accurately descrbe it) but it seems i was wrong. if this is true it could be worse than collateral damage.
(and please no comments trying to defend collateral damage, as you will only be arguing for your lack of taste in films and it will become so embarrasing you'll have to go back to playing pokemon silver)
So let me guess .... Once Willis dies heroically in this new movie, we are left with the traumatised Britney character to continue this movie franchise with the aptly titled....
.... Dye Hard 5? :p
.... Where Britney McClane takes out a band of hairdressing terrorists in a new Hi-Rise state-of-the-art Beauty Salon in downtown LA?
Ummm ... I'll get me coat!

Now if only they could get Christina Aguilerra to play "Christina Gruber", terrorist gangleader & daughter of Hans from the first movie .... On the run for crimes against fashion & bad hairstyles ..... I'd pay money to see her thrown out of a 100 storey window! :p
Out of all 3 movie's die hard 2 is my fav then die hard 1, and then die Hard 3 (which is good but just did not have the kind of tension the other 2 had). Even if you don't like Die hard 2, i don't understand how you could describe it as a pile of tosh but each to his own. If there is a 4th movie I really jope Powell is back he's great and he deserves a great death scene saving John arse.
