Question:
i Finally got round to watching this on VHS last night, although i enjoyed it and thought the cheography was amazing i was shocked in the way it was presented.
It starts of in widescreen with very small subtitles which seem impossible to read when a white background comes up, after about 10 mins into the film it then changes from widescreen to full screen which makes it even harder to read because it crops of the subtitles, i was happy to see it back to widescreen later on in the film
is there a release date for region 2 and would hkl have the rights to it
You might be pleased to find out that HKL have the UK rights to this film :)
No word on when they'll release it though (hopefully 2003 but you never know) but if you can't wait till then you should check out the HK DVD from Mei Ah. It's a surprisingly good letterboxed 2.35:1 (or threabouts) transfer, which is one of Mei Ah's best. In fact definitely their best for an Old School film imo & it's really cheap at DDD right now as it's in their weekly sale (£4.50 delivered :) )
I got this one and I must say I was very impressed with the picture and sound. You can't really complain for the price and a great film to boot!
