Eastwood to call it a day!
Question:

Clint Eastwood, whose last film, Blood Work, earned only $7.3 million when it opened last August and took in just $26.2 million during its entire domestic run, is considering hanging it up as an actor. In London to promote the U.K. opening of the film this week, Eastwood told the Daily Telegraph: "I've wanted to phase out of acting and into directing. ... I'll do it when the day comes that you look up on the screen and say, 'That's enough of that guy.' And that day gets closer all the time."
well it had to come sooner or later ... just above to sit down and watch Blood Work now, probably be 10x better then most high-grossing films this year! :(

Damn :(
Clint is one of my favourite actors and it is a real shame that he will not be appearing in front of the camera. It had to happen at some point I suppose, but I for one am saddened

Answers:

Clint is my all time favourite actor and I am in the process of replacing all my Eastwood films on VHS to DVD.
I hope he decides to stay in front of the camera for a few more movies :(

Blood Work was excellent, just reaffirms his professionality and capability to make something new and interesting out of such an over-done subgenre.
He's already not acting in his current project, Mystic River, starring Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Laura Linney, and Kevin Bacon.

Have you seen Blood Work?
I think Clint is right to call it a day tbh, it was average at best.

I love Clint too, but perhaps he is getting a little too old to lead a film as often as he does. Maybe he should go the Paul Newman/Marlon Brando etc route and just crop up in scene stealing supporting roles.
Glad his directing is going to continue though.

Am going to buy it in the New Year (when my DVD buying fast ends :D )
I must admit that I enjoy an average Clint film more than a great film by most other people :)

just watched Blood Work, its a great film ... Dirty Harry fans wont be dissapointed (except it gave away the Killer too easy). IMO this would have made a good send-off for the Dirty Harry series.

I think Eastwood should carry on directing and maybe do small roles in his films when required to keep the budget down.
Let be honest Eastwood is looking really old now and there aren't many roles for a man for his age.
Still I think Eastwood is one of my favourite actor and probably best actor before 1990s.
Sean Connery can get away doing films as he is young looking in films like Rock and Entrapment.

Clint is one of the most gifted and versatile actor/directors in modern cinema. He's an important and innovative figure whose influence should not be underestimated.
That film with the monkey is hilarious!

No one can beat the clock. But he's already proven so much. Anything now is a bonus.
Be good to see him still pop up in some big films in smaller parts, think he'll do something like that.
Although I hope Clint does not confuse the films quality with his, if there's a good story that'll make a great story, everyone would like to see him play it etc.
