Question:
Does anybody else think it's funny that that Play.com have the 'countdown to Mannequin ' being released on their front page??
Yeah, we've all been waiting for this title since DVD was invented for sure.
Actually, I haven't seen it for years, but I quite enjoyed it as a kid. Even though it's totally naff and pants.:smokin:
Let's not forget that this is also the same company that has the "Paul Ross' Hot Pick" on the home page...
Well I guess they had to advertise it otherwise no one would know about its release.
FWIW I think it's an enjoyable enough film so why shouldn't it be advertised on their countdown to release? Especially now that most of the big pre-Christmas releases have happened.
And there's always bound to be some nostalgia fans out there who enjoyed it when they were young, earn heaps of money now and buy it on impulse.
But its got that fit bird in it out of sex and the city!! play.com are totally off the plot when it comes to picking what films to feature, the office was probably one of the biggest selling dvd's of the year, and without a search you wouldnt know they had it for sale, where-as the cheap crap Paul Ross is paid to plug gets front page

I'll probably buy it. I'm not in a hurry though.
Lets not forget it also stars whatsis name Captain Harris from the police academy films. And James Spader in a role he'd probably like to forget.
Is Harris the guy who sys:
"move it, move it proctor!"
Ah Kim Cattrall, happy memories of Police Academy and Big Trouble In Little China. :)

Pardon me for being ignorant but is 'Criterion' a movie and if so, who's in it? :oh-hum:
He is joking. Have a look at www.criterionco.com for info on criterion dvds.:)
Bless you zaheerm
See welshmatt for guidance ;)
The more you look at it, the more this DVD becomes an essential purchase.
The thing I love about Mannequin is its subtle shading, its depth and fantastic acting. You feel for Kim Cattrells character, you feel her pain as she is trapped within a plastic shell. You also feel Andrew McCarthys yearning to be with her, and must undergo a tortuous metaphysical journey with the characters before you emerge, exhausted, at the end of a rivetting and emotionally draining cinematic masterpiece.
Yeah, I'm suprised this under rated Gem of a movie never won any oscars or anything.
It's an 80s classic.
Don't forget the classic 80's soundtrack which features Starship's hit Number 1 "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" :rocker: Any news of the sequel coming to DVD? :dork:
My girlfriend wanted this for some birthday or other festivity a while back and I got it on R1. Thankfully she hasn't made me sit through it. ;)
First time I ordered it, Futureent sent me Metropolis, mind...

Im sure there IS a sequel to this movie, though it was a made for TV ot 'straight to video' thing, which features none of the original stars of the first movie.
Well, what with all the hype and excitement over this release I er.....well I couldn't wait.
I bought it from my local blockbuster this afternoon for the rather trouser arousing price of 9.99:norty:

Damn I never knew that. Is this available on R1? :dork:
Available nationwide this monday peeps. :norty:
Exciting, no?
I used to love this when I was younger, probably wait until it's in a sale before I get it though. Kim Cattrall :norty: Andrew McCarthy officially the crappiest "brat pack" actor. Also the film that typecast James Spader as an uptight yuppie
I like Mannequin, grew up with it, Kim was so damn hot in it  :dork:
