and they've chosen some great films for the first releases!!!!

I can’t believe the BFI are still using that same dull generic design.
I should have some very exciting news in January regarding some long awaited archive TV releases. Start saving those pennies.

I agree completely. The BFI Archive TV sleeves are quite possibly the most unattractive designs I've ever seen, (and I used to regularly receive sleeves from labels that were barely larger than one man and a couple video recorders!)
Oddly, they were well-received over at the Mausoleum Club...

Well, I like 'em. It's elegant, sleek and really does make the whole range of discs a collection.

Carlton now own the rights to 17 of the 31 movies, and will be releasing all of them in 2003.

As (inexplicably) were the BBC Special Interests covers. Hackwork, both of them.

:(
Oh well...I like them because they're not busy or overcrowded, and I disagree that that makes them look cheap or thrown-together...

I'm glad to see Culloden has finally got a release -- I've not seen it since 1996, when it was shown as part of the aniversary of the battle. It's quite possibly -- and I trust my memory here! -- one of the most innovative and devastating depictions of warfare ever, on television or otherwise.
I've never seen The War Game in its entirety, but the parts I have seen were shocking, and I'll definitely be purchasing such an important part of television and Cold War history.
