Question:
Due for release late January; it has trailers (Eng/Arabic) and a making of documentary. The picture is anamorphic with 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
How does this compare to the current R2 edition which almost exactly the same features (Eng trailer & documentary) but the picture is non-anamorphic 1.85:1 aspect ratio?
Personally I love this film and want to own it with the best picture so which one to own?
I wasn't aware that Anachor Bay was releasing The Message DVD again in January - hence the post in the bargains forum.
Also I was under the impression that R2 PAL DVD is 2.35:1 AR and not 1.85:1 ???
I've got the R1 DVD, which is non-anamorphic @ 2.35:1 - see this thread for info on R2 DVD;

This new Anchor Bay if done with new anamorphic transfer should be much better than any previous version. I couldn't find any info on the Anchor Bay site on this new release - where did you hear about it?
