Question:
Watching Big Daddy yesterday made me think, while I really like Adam Sandler's films, this has to be the worst.
1. Happy Gilmore
2. The Wedding Singer
3. Billy Madison
4. Mr Deeds
5. The Waterboy
6. Little Nicky
7. Big Daddy
I'd put Airheads, and Bulletproof ahead of 'Big Daddy', but they're not really thought of as 'his' films.
Who on earth would admit to liking Adam Sandler, quite simply the worst comedian (and I use that term lightly) in the world. His films are just so awful it it unbelievable that anyone accept perhaps the Americans could actually like him.

No way I watched Big Daddy last night and thought it was hilarious. Well until I turned over to watch the Simpson’s anyway :D
big daddy and the waterboy are my favs
sandler is hilarious.
Any movie that heavily features "Tuesday's Gone" by Lynyrd Skynyrd on the soundtrack has got to be good, but Happy Gilmore is a genuinely funny and very watchable movie....
But the award goes to The Wedding Singer, the best romcom bar My Sassy Girl and Art Museum by the Zoo in years! It's a genre he is enormously well suited for....
Steve
The wedding singer is the first DVD I ever brought
I choose none.
Happy Gilmore !
Happy Gilmore - by a big margin.....
Also like The Wedding Singer but IMO Gilmore is head and shoulders above the rest!
The Wedding Singer. :notworthy

The Wedding Singer is a wonderful romantic comedy, even if you're not a Sandler fan, it's warm and funny without over-sentimentality. The 'Please kill me' song is great, and the party scenes are hilarious. This Sandler film has Tim Herlihy's best script which nicely encapsulates eighties pop-culture, and you can't deny the great soundtrack.
Sandler comedy is an acquired taste, but how Happy Gilmore doesn't raise even a chuckle is beyond me. As a comedian I think he's very funny, and his characters are wonderfully weird and off-the-wall, usually making some neurotic comment about life without money/a girlfriend or both.
I thought Minority Report was excellent!

I'd agree with the exception of Happy Gilmore, which I thought was pretty decent,IMHO everything else he's done is a complete pile of cack.
The Wedding Singer - bring back the 80s

i thought happy gilmore was superb but sandler is ultimately a one trick pony an all his films are the same after happy IMHO.
Happy Gilmore - 'I eat pieces of ****** like you for breakfast."
'You eat pieces of ****** for breakfast?"
Oh, and there will be no dissing of Big Daddy round here either - that movie is bloody class. "He's still goal-oriented, still focused. He has a five year plan." "What is it, 'don't die'?"
Least favourite would probably be Little Nicky, but even that has some funny stuff in it - "No-one calls my girlfriend an evil bitch from hell!"
I hated Little Nicky IMHO its the worst of his films.
The best are 'Punch Drunk Love' and 'Happy Gilmore'
"The price is wrong bitch!"
(you knew that quote was coming)
Big Daddy is my favourite of his films.
Rob Schneider being taught to read nearly had me needing new pants.
i love ALL the Sandler films, only after seeing Little Nicky for the first time did i think he was on a downward spiral, but after a few more viewings even with my cousin who thinks it's the worst film he's ever seen now, it's actually grown on me, more so after seeing it with the commentary, and with friends who love it... then Mr.Deeds came out, and my faith was completey restored.
I don't think he's a one trick pony at all.. it's just that his characters may look and sound different, but they are essentially all the same deep down. But as for the films, they are all unique.. and just absolutely feel-good.. his films always cheer me up.
I'd personally have Big Daddy in the Top 3.. i think Waterboy is his weakest one though, but i still like it, it's just i'd prefer to watch the other ones again.
:)
Big Daddy definately has it's moments of hilarity.. I suppose you need to be in the right mood for it... My best bits being the McDonalds scene and the Steve Buscemi/tramp scenes..
Fave Adam Sandler films? None. One of my fav films that just happens to have Adam Sandler in it? Punch-Drunk Love. He can be good if he's not acting stupid.
C'mon, Happy Gilmore is a damn funny movie. It can be sweet and vicious in equal measure - just what I want from a comedy. That head-butt in the Happy/Bob Barker fight is a corker. And Carl Weathers as an aged golf pro with one arm? What's not to like there?
"Eight Crazy Nights" or whatever it's called. Went to see it drunk with some friends in the US recently. Too adult for a kids film, too childish for an adult film, too crap for a decent film. More alcohol would no doubt have improved my enjoyment - I would probably have slept through the whole thing that way.
Happy Gilmore all the way.
The one liners now make up the majority of chat when me and my mates play golf.
"You suck Gilmore",
"Why don't you people go back to your shanty's".
"Pitching wedge!!!, you're fired"

I don't like him either. He's going to be in Tarantino's World War 2 film Inglorious ********!
How come I'm the only one who rates Billy Madison above Happy Gilmore???

it that makes me  every time I see it.
Oh and it's a comedy around golf which is probably why:nuts:
The Wedding Singer every time. The bit where he sings his song to Drew Barrymore that "is a little unbalanced" has me in stitches every time.

It's about 60 minutes into the movie (i don't have my DVD at the mo so can't say for sure), when Shooter buys Grandma's house at auction and Happy challenges him as to who will win the open.
OK, Cheers.
Very good line that........
:D
Happy Gilmore
Wedding Singer
Mature Sandler - The Wedding Singer + Mr Deeds
Childish (but quite funny) Sandler - Happy Gilmore + The Waterboy
I like most of his movies but he is an aquired taste.
"Stop looking at me swan!"
I think I like the wedding singer the most as a film but Happy Gilmore has the best lines in it.
"Send him home, send the ball home"
***misses the putt***
"Why didn't you just go home ball? That's your home, whats the matter, TOO GOOD FOR YOUR HOME?!!!"

WHAT ABOUT MADDISON????
:D
Not seen Happy Gilmore but of the others mentioned I only really enjoyed The Wedding Singer
From what's been posted, it just about confirms that The Wedding Singer is Sandler's most rounded, easily accessible movie, with Happy Gilmore being his most funny.
I think Happy Gilmore is his best, mainly because at that time he didn't care, and I'm sure he was just glad to be making movies. You can tell he is at ease with the material, and the film shows us 'Sandler-humour' at its height. Other films he's done have shown glimpses of his best stuff, but nothing as solid, and consistant as 'Happy'.
The Wedding Singer is perhaps the film that put him on the map, so it deserves to be high on any list of his best films. The Waterboy just confirmed his bankability.
