Question:
... the first one, not the crap Simba's Pride sequel.
Either next year or the year after. It was originally scheduled for 2004, but there was some suggestion that it had been moved forward a year, but like everything else you hear about Disney, it could just be a groundless rumor.
Next year, thank God.
The Disney re-release program is based around their Imax presentation. They present the film in Imax format in January around the world, and then release the DVD for a few weeks in around October time.
Lion King is in Imax in January, ergo should be on DVD in October of 2003. I cannot wait.
I'm more looking forward to releases like One Hundred and One Dalmatians and The Jungle Book, personally, but yeah, Lion King was okay-ish. I'd probably buy it.
I have say that the only Disney stuff I would get (or have got) are the classics [ Jungle Book, Snow White, etc ] but of the 'recent' stuff the only ones I am waiting for, in hopefully SE, are The Lion King and Aladdin (I and III).
Mind you I have never seen Mulan (but constantly hear good reports about it)

FWIW, I think Mulan is excellent - snappy dialog, a very funny dragon (Eddie Murphie) and some good songs. I prefer it immeasurably to Aladdin and The Lion King - much less full of itself, not afraid to send it all up. Same goes for Lilo and Stitch...
