Make it a new years resolution to watch it

For me it's a tie between <i>Fargo</i> and <i>The Big Lebowski</i> very, very closely followed by <i>O brother</i>
Although, having said that, Barton Fink's pretty good as well :)
Edit: I'll echo Wayne here. 8-], if you haven't seen Fargo, try to. It's a top film  :)

Answers:

The Big Lebowski, cause it has classic dialogue like:
Maude Lebowski: What do you do for recreation?
The Dude: Oh, the usual. Bowl, drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

Answers:

I think they are all fantastic , If I had to pick one it would be between The Big Lebowski and Miller's Crossing (when it eventually comes out on DVD)

Answers:

I've been wanting to watch Fargo ever since it came out but just haven't gotten around to it. :(

There's apparently going to be a special edition next march (See here ) , so it might be worth hanging on if you're thinking of getting the DVD - You can either get the new one or pick up a bargain on the classifieds when everyone starts selling the old version :)

So I'm the only person to think 'O'Brother' is their worst movie ?
In terms of pure entertainment value then 'The Big Lebowski' is king, but 'Blood Simple' and 'Fargo' are all together classier movies...

Usually it's The Big Lebowski for its dialogue, but Fargo and The Man Who Wasn't There are also some of my favourites.

Miller's Crossing

The Coens, after a run 9 stunning movies over the last 18 years, are far & away my favourite contributers to film. I don't think any other actor, Director or otherwise could boast this amazing feat.
For rewatchvalue I can watch any of the stupendous comedies (O Brother, Big Lebowski, Hudsucker Proxy and Raising Arizona) over and over and over. Each one is genius in it's own way. Each acquiring slightly different taste in comedy.
But their dramas, albeit admittedly still with a slight comic edge, are just as equally amazing. Miller's Crossing, Fargo, Man Who and Blood Simple are all excellent film noir set in some very different decades.
However the black sheep of the flock is the superb Barton Fink. Whilst it has the same noir-esque feel of the latter, it has some excellent black comedy moments that wouldn't be amiss in the first bach mentioned. This one is probably closer to Man Who than any of the others.
I haven't seen Barton Fink and Miller's Crossing for a couple of years now, but have seen the others (some more than once) within the last couple of months. I really can't wait for BF and MC DVD releases.
So what would everyone say are the best versions to own of each movie ? I'd guess something like:
Blood Simple - R1
Hudsucker Proxy - R1
Raising Arizona - UK R2
Fargo - Upcoming UK R2
Big Lebowski - R1
O Brother Where Art Thou ? - UK R2 2 Disc
Man Who Wasn't There - Japanese R2 NTSC 2 Disc

My fave is definitely Big Lebowski, followed by Fargo.
My least favourite is Hudsucker Proxy. Just didn't do anything for me.
I'm still yet to see Blood Simple, but I'd like to. Is it any good? How does it rate between Lebowski and Hudsucker??

Answers:

It's completely different to Lebowski and Hudsucker, more comparable to Fargo and The Man Who Wasn't There if you've seen them. Personally I think it lacks something compared to their later work, but I know there are plenty of people who really like it so it's definitely worth watching.

Blood Simple is just class - The performances are all immaculate and the almost dialogue-free second act along with a truly excellent ending make it a legend in my opinion.

I still haven't seen O' Brother :( I have wanted to for a while but don't want to buy it just rent/borrow it and I haven't had time to do so yet. But I do like almost all their other movies, so what is so bad in your opinion about O' Brother?

'Miller's Crossing' for me - fantastic music, atmosphere, pace, Gabriel Byrne and Albert Finney are class as is John Turturro (as per usual). The 'Danny Boy' tommy-gun scene is a one of my favourite scenes ever.
It's a tie in second place - 'The Big Lebowksi' and 'O Brother Where Art Though'. O Brother is my favourite 'feel good film'.

<b>Miller's Crossing</b>
Watching it is like mainlining pure cinema. The script, the acting, the cinematography, the sheer talent on display. It's just that good.
Then:
<b>The Big Lebowski
Barton Fink
Fargo
The Man Who Wasn't There
Raising Arizona
The Hudsucker Proxy
Blood Simple
O Brother Where Art Thou</b>
Although Blood Simple with the spoof commentary climbs up ahead Raising Arizona.

The Hudsucker Proxy

Miller's Crossing for me. A perfect film and the first Coen movie I ever saw - have been completely hooked ever since.
Thinking I ought to get Hudsucker now, can anyone confirm why R1 is supposedly the best??

Answers:

Big Lebowski. I must know most of the dialogue off by heart the number of times I`ve seen this....
but all their films are genius. Must rewatch my copy of Millers Crossing though.
