Question:
Just downloaded Cradle to the Grave from Dave's Trailer Page. (http://www.kaneda.freeserve.co.uk/trailers.html)
Film looks deadly, there's a very small clip of Mark Dacascos fighting Jet Li in the rain.
This is an all out action by the looks of things. I love the safe cracking scene. I hope it's better than Romeo Must Die!
This will be great, Dacascos was great in Drive and Crying Freeman!
i am officially excited!
marc dacascos and jet li, i've waited for this for sooooo long.
I'm a guy and I'm in love with this guy!! One of my favourite Western HK flicks is Drive, and thank you Medusa for doing such a good job on it! Check out the commentary. Seriously enjoyable. About time Mark gets some exposure. Anyone else looking forward to "The Adventurer"?
Is The Adventurer actually green-lit then?
Did you guys not see Romeo Must Die or Exit Wounds?
This will stink!! I guarantee it'll have 1 or 2 half decent fight scenes (which will be ruined by bad cgi, wire work & hyperactive editing), an atrocious gangsta rap soundtrack & some lame comic relief (Anthony Anderson, you will never be funny! & come in Tom Arnold, your time was up a looong time ago).
Note to Joel Silver: Rap 'stars' in action movies is NOT A GOOD THING!!!
Looks like it could be good.
Also has Kelly Hu in it :norty:

Yes I agree that Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds are poor. However, from the look of the trailer this looks more exciting than the director's previous efforts.
We can always live in hope and die in despair!
thought Exit Wounds was one of last years best actions myself, it certainly gave Seagals carreer a boost!

from the director of exit wounds:( i'm still a bit excited but this has somewhat urinated on my chips.
Anyone who makes the total abomination that is Exit Wounds is completely incapable of making a good action film.
At least it has a decent cast... they might be able to make it work even if the director is a muppet

Agree totally, this is going to be more ****, when is Jet Li ever going to do a good Hollywood film? :|

I would have thought so. Can't remember where exactly I read/heard about it, could be the Brotherhood of the Worlf DVD. I only remembered it as being Cristophe Gans' next project. Well fingers crossed.
Didn't know Kelly Hu was in this one. She seems to be getting around a bit more now. I don't really mind, sine she is a bit fine. Incidentally, Kelly Hu is in Martial Law with Sammo Hung. He had a fight scene with Marc Dacascos in one of the episodes. Now Marc's in a movie with Kelly :dork:.
Marc Dacascos Rocks!!!
The film...? Trailer looks good, but that may be all the good bits of it. :(
Still, I'm going to go and see it, hell, I liked The One!!!
When does this come out in the cinemas here? Or on R1?
It says on the web that it was 28 Feb for the US cinema release.

It's out March 28th over here according to IMDB.
The films made a tidy $17 million this weekend in America.
Mr Stanton just wishes Jet Li would stop arseing about making films with rap stars.
At least his next Hollywood film is with the much more classy Morgan Freeman.

btw - do you have any more info on the film Jet Li's making with Morgan Freeman?
I'm embarresed to admit that I just twigged that this film isn't a sequel.
I kept reading it as Cradle 2: The Grave when really it's Cradle 2 The Grave ('2' an abreiviation of 'to', obviously)
Duuuur me :dork:

It's called 'Danny the Dog' and Luc Besson is scripting it. The Director is the guy who did 'The Transporter'.
No idea what it's about but i think it's safe to say it's not a romcom.

It's also been shooting in Glasgow city centre, 2 minutes along the road from where I live. They were even shooting outside our studio a day or two ago, but alas we weren't there.

Look what DMX said about Seagal:
He's kind of washed-up. He wore a girdle the whole movie. And spray-on hair? Come on. This is not the Steven Seagal I remember! I remember a badass. Neato! I mean, Nico! I remember Nico! But I get here and I see f---in' Geritol.
:( :oh-hum: :D
That's hilarious !!
had not heard about Danny the Dog until I read about it here...................... Jet Li working with Morgan Freeman sounds interesting and could bring a bit more heart to his films than of late..................... R must Die, KOTD & The one were not what i wanted to see from Jet (altho' the chemistry between alyihah and Jet was enjoyable).................these hybrid action films take away from what he does best, traditional Kung Fu and i hope Cradle 2 da grave gets around this in a better manner...............future producers should watch fist of legend to prove Jet can be a badass in a modern(ish) setting with fights that show off what he can really do................
as for danny the dog this quote of off one of the links somebody posted is a bit iffy
"I recently witnessed the filming of 'Danny The Dog.' Staring Jet Li, Morgan Freeman And Bob Hoskins, and set in France and Scotland. Apparently, the script is very hush hush. But heres what the crew told me. Jet Li plays Danny, a sort of simpleton, who has never been educated in his life, and for some reason wears a collar that restricts him from violence. As you can guess when it comes of he becomes a killing machine. Jet Li is protecting Morgan Freeman who plays a blind man who is being hunted down because he knows something that some guys want to keep secret, so while on the run morgan begins to show and educate 'Danny' about things he never knew before."
when i read the stuff about the collar i just got a mental image of Jet wearing one of those huge conical collars that injured dogs wear:eek:
I was really looking forward to C2TG especially the Jet Li/Dacascos fight, but it hasn't been getting very good reviews, even from the diehard Jet fans. Looks like yet another wasted opportunity:(
