Question:
Has anyone got info on Empire, such as first impressions and possible release dates coz it's the only film thats got me interested in quite a while (sod yer 2 towers ********). ;)
It stars the guy from Baz's Romeo & Juilet, It's Pest, & Super Mario.:D With a plot similar to Scarface.

John Leguizamo;)
Thats the guy.
Just found out it wasreleased this week in the US going in at no.4 in the boxoffice. Critics have mixed opinions.
Oh well, If it turns out pants there's always Gangs of New York.
I'm interested in seeing it more for Peter Sarsgaard, an investment banker who screws Leguizamo out of his money. He was great in Center of the World, Salton Sea and K-19.

:notworthy.
Had high hopes for this, but was very disappointed.
Very deriative although powered by good performances.
Leguizamo as solid as ever and Sarsgard is impressive. Isabella Rosselini pops up in an amusing cameo (well at least the hair's amusing !).
The film however is a mish-mash of Scarface, King Of New York, Fresh (and bizarrely Wall Street as well !) - with stereotypical "playas" and drug-runners - posturing and "gangsta" hits.
Nothing to write home about...
(<b>Lenny</b> - you'll love it !);)
Thankgod for that, from the title I thought someone had idiotically tried to remake Scarface.
Nothing is sacred in this world (see Get Carter & Italian Job remakes amongst others) and for someone to do that .. I'd have to introduce them to my leetle friend (no, not little clud, the other leetle friend):D

Err, Scarface was a remake.
Assuming your talking about the one staring Al Pacino.

Yup, but Pacino's Scarface is a fantastic film.
Most Hollywood remakes at the moment are painful.
I'm not having a go at all remakes, but the way they are being done at the moment I'd rather they left classics alone and tried to make some decent original material.
