Question:
Could anybody enlighten me on which Reg to go for.
The Reg2 releases are cheaper but how does the picture etc compare with Reg 1.
Hi there,
Region 1 was edited to 97mins, the R2 is the full 104mins (100min in PAL)
Despite what some people say the R1 is missing gore & dialogue scenes.
I'd go for the Dutch version, it's 1:66:1 w/s & English dolby surround with removeable subtitles.
ciao Daliah.
What's the German anamorphic version of Braindead like? I have the Spanish version.
The Spanish version has a more detailed picture, the German one is too bright & smeary, if you can override the enforced subtitles, stick with the Spanish one for the time being.

What about the UK R2 Braindead disc, is that any good?
Tricky for me to pick up the Spanish/German version as I don't have a credit card.
Now that's the only version I haven't seen!
It is mono though, where as all other releases have been in Dolby stereo or surround.

I'm pretty sure that the UK dvd of Braindead is in DD 2.0 stereo, even though it states DD 1.0 mono on the cover.

That disc sounds pretty crap from what I've heard.
I'll be sticking to the Spanish version then. It's not great but any bugger can override the subs if they know how.
Am I right in thinking that the Spanish title 'Braindead: Tu madre se ha comido a mi perro' means 'Braindead: Your mother ate my dog' in English? ;)

Are any of the German releases anamorphic, do you know? I was under the impression that the only anamorphic release was the Scandinavian one from Scanbox?
The second version of Braindead is anamorphic PAL. I was just wondering if the picture quality was any good.
Keeping my Spanish DVD.
Anchor Bay... where are you?! Move it!
