Question:
Does anyone know if the new 50th anniversary CE of High Noon from Artisan/Republic comes in one of those horrible bilingual packages in Canada?
I have recently had mixed results when ordering artisans DVDs: Reservoir dogs was OK; English only (and identical to US) whereas Glengarry Glenross had horrible French cover.
As artisan's covers seem a bit hit and miss I thought I would check this out before ordering.
Lets face it; you don't want an American classic like this to read "le high noon" or something similar in FRENCH on the cover :)
BTW, this 50th ann. re-release seems like a great disk with lots of extras and dvdboxoffice.com have it for a reasonable 25CAD delivered.
Thanks for any info on this
I've got High Noon from Canada and it contains NO French wording at all.
Thanks for the info, though is the version you have the 50th CE re-release from October 2002? Because Canadian law was recently changed to force DVDs to be bilingual but this only affects new releases.
The version I have (and I suspect vanmunchen has it too) is the recent 50th Anniversary re-release. There is no French at all on the cover or slip-case, and I got it from Canadian etailers dvdsoon.

So many films, so little time...
They only need billingual packaging if there is a French soundtrack on the DVD - of which I don't think there is.
My copy should be here for Christmas :D
Thanks guys!
