DVD Profiler: Anyone having problems?
Question:

Whenever I use DVD Profiler now I keep getting Access Violations left right and centre :(
Also it refuses to download updates to the database when I scan for new files - anyone else having this happen?

Answers:

I can't get it to connect at all ATM.
This'd prolly do better in C&C Forum tho :)

Answers:

Don't use it anymore..too many issues with it, locking my PC etc..password problems..

Guess you're right Beebul - Can someone move me please ;)

I had problems with the Profiler database on my PC not uploading properly to the website - when it reached 41 titles not being displayed I gave up with it & deleted the whole programme.
Now I just list my dvd titles on some free webspace that I have.

DVD Collector's meant to be released in 24 days from http://www.crunchymedia.com

Mine works okay - are you on version 2?
The only problem I've had with DVD Profiler (the last version at least) was that if I did a backup over an old one it wouldn't actually write any new data. Had to re-enter a load of DVD's several times before I worked that one out.

I am on Version 2 bouncingjohn - that's half the problem I think, didn't have any problems before I got the new version, and if you try to get the Version 1 from the website you just download Version 2 anyway.
I've tried repairing the database but the whole thing just locks up and I have to CTR+SHIFT+DEL to end the taks :(
Hopefully DVD Collector will be an improvement - I've given up on it for now :(

Me too.
But, I found out importing my old Profiler information and amending that was easier. :D

when you do an xml export it exports everything, including actor/role info.

Seems to be working fine here too.

Had problems when I first downloaded v2.0 and was running Windows XP. Have since rebuilt PC to Windows 2000 and it works fine!

Just added a couple more DVDs today.

opps, I've changed my mind. I can add dvd's to profiler but I can't update my profiler to the dvd profiler site.
I get an error code when I try to upload, hopefully this is just a temporary thing

I get problems with it all the time ... I've nearly give in up with it , when I try to change anything all I get is "List index out of bounds(-1)" , I've uninstalled it cleaned the registry then re-installed it still the same bloody problem

when do you get this message?
Its probably because you haven't set your locality

I don't think its that , that is causing the problem ,as you only get the option to change your locality to US or Canada and I'm in the UK

Answers:

that's the disc locality. you need to set your locality in the tools->options bit.
if the dvdprofiler forums were up, a search there would give you lots of hits.

Answers:

When I try to change any option at all , even the locality it still gives me the out of bounds error :(
I think I've fixed it now tho , thanks :) for the help
