Anyone know where the lighthouse in the movie Paperhouse is in the UK.

Think i remember reading on the credits that it's in Devon somewhere.
A superb movie.
I say, agreed: a jolly good little film.
I recently noticed this on offer at Splash for a most tempting £7.99 (from £20), and posted as much in the Bargain Forum. Can anyone offer an opinion on the quality of this release?
I am afraid that I cannot offer any insight on the location of the lighthouse, old bean.
It’s a top-notch anamorphic transfer and is an aboslute steal at that price. Shame there’s no Bernard Rose commentary.

pah if it was anywhere but splash I'ld have jumped at buying it... been waiting over a month for one disc finally got a reply from them saying my card had only just been authorised and it would be another week... which is tosh as they took my money the day I ordered :mad:
The Aussie dvd release is only $9.95 (£3.55 thats even without GST taken off) but adding P&P may bring it up to £7.99 I don't know, that too is 16:9 Enhanced.

AFAIK you're not missing anything, because the original cinema release was only stereo - after all, it was a low-budget British film made in 1988.
The town they're staying in at the end is Ilfracombe in Devon, but the lighthouse up on the clifftop doesn't exist in real life.
I suspect a model or matte artwork - it's only ever seen clearly from two angles in wide shot and the close-up bit of the door shows nothing that couldn't have been mocked up.
