DS9 was the only series which I couldn't get into, I have seen a few episodes and they were ok but I couldn't really get into them. After much debating I think I'll skip this series, roll on Voyager - that what I say ;)

It certainly is, closely followed by Voyager.

We hopefully should have details on Enterprise very soon.

Ah, Deep Space Nine - the most original, darkest and most exciting Star Trek series ever. Best characters, best story. Give it a chance.
Also has the best ending to a Star Trek series ever.

DS9 only got good when the dominion got into it. Upto then, it didn't have direction.
Also they hadn't learnt about the 'Wesley effect' so they put another kid in it.
Roll on Enterprise and Voyager.

I don't think it deserved the 'Star Trek' title to be honest. It started promisingly and then turned into a mini soap opera with a painfully long and bland story arc which featured characters you couldn't care less about. I didn't think sisko was a strong or interesting enough character/actor to carry the show to be honest.

You mean that bit where they were all in that 'club' on the holodeck listening to some singer whilst they all got their own flashback. Followed by the shape shifter wearing a tuxedo and vanishing into a pool of silver.

For the most part I loved DS9 and will look forward to watching them again on DVD. Hopefully they will get the cut episodes problem sorted out.
OK, so it didn't fit in to what most people call Star Trek but they came out with some excellent stories.
The only thing I really hated was when they bought in the holo deck singer Vic Fontaine  (I had the same feeling of dread when seeing the teenager Connor come into Angel :( )

I thought the ending was very poor - especially for a series with so many ongoing plotlines. Eveything was tied up way too quickly.
The TNG ending was by far the best IMO.

Answers:

my favourite trek series also, memorable for the episode which takes place 'inside' an old TOS episode about tribbles.

Just seen over at the R2 Project that the extras for DS9 have been announced:
http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?sectionId=2&articleId=5001
And if that is not enough, all fans will be treated to seven, uniquely-packaged DVD box sets of STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE. The first DVD box set contains all 19 episodes of the COMPLETE SEASON ONE and will be released on 24th March 2003 (RRP£ 84.99) further seasons are scheduled for release throughout the year. The first release contains a whole disk of never before seen extras:
DEEP SPACE NINE: A Bold Beginning
Crew Dossier: Kira Nerys
Michael Westmore's Aliens: Season One
Secrets of Quark's Bar
Alien Artifacts: Season One
DEEP SPACE NINE Sketchbook
DEEP SPACE NINE Chronicles
Section 31 Hidden Files and Photo Gallery

With the first Season being a whole 7 episodes shorter then "normal" for a ST season, they really should have sliced the RRP down a bit.

Answers:

There's bound to be a forthcoming ST series called "Klingon" with a special Klingon language track on the dvd for those really sad people out there.........!
Anyway, looking forward to DS9. Wasn't too preachy like TNG eg "Let's all be friends" nearly all the time and trying to do "the right thing" rather than kicking someone's backside!. It did pick up a lot with Dominion - fighting always a good thing is ST series', although the ending should have been the movie ST:X rather than Nemesis - would have allowed the DS9 crew and the crew of the Enterprise to be in the same movie in a major battle!

I think to really appreciate DS9 you have to watch it right from beginning to end as it's certainly a show that rewards the regular viewer. A fantastic show IMHO.
Also they hadn't learnt about the 'Wesley effect' so they put another kid in it.
Ah, but Voyager has Neelix and Naomi Wildman.

The Enterprise-D was meant as a scientific exploration vessel and not a warship, that's why Picard always tried to avoid a fight. Anyway he could still 'kick ass' when required. :D
I actually like all the incarnations of Star Trek including Voyager and will be collecting them all on DVD. :dork: :dork:

Everything after TOS and TNG was crap.
DSN was rubbish for about 4-5 seasons and then it got half decent yowards the end.
Voyager was just dire and quite frankly was a joke.
Enterprise is OK but is very very bland.
In fact the only star trek thing I am anticipating is the movie Star Trek: Nemesis, and I know I am going to really enjoy it. (plus johnathon e. hates it which can be a plus for me since we dont like much of the same stuff! :D )

Why exactly do so many people hate Voyager?

cos it sucks. the kazon are completely lame enemies. janeway lets people shoot at them for ages before doing something back and i am screaming at the stupid bint to blast their asses :brickwall
neelix is annoying all the time.
torres got whipped. she's supposed to be this tough klingon chikie but thinks it's fair that tom paris goes on a spaceship race on an anniversary or something. :dork: yep strong willed female right there.
i do think ds9 sucked at the start, up until they went off to the gamma quad and met the jem'hadar for the first time. then it got decent/good (ocassionally) then worf came in and except for the stupid klingon eps it got better, then the war started and you have the best sci fi show EVER!!!111 :)

Not to mention the fact that they cut the balls off one of the federations most feared enemies, the Borg.
TNG: It's the Borg, reverse course warp 9.
Voy: It's the Borg, lets steal something cause we'll easily get away with it. :nono:

Answers:

although it did give us 'scorpion part 1' which was the best voy ep IMO. (but then again it wasn't difficult). ep 2 was a dissapointing one tho

True, but some of the later enemies were much better. I thought the Hirogen were interesting.

Again very true. Even I can't defend him. :nono:
Voy: It's the Borg, lets steal something cause we'll easily get away with it.
I thought that this was due to the fact that they used Seven's previous knowledge as a Borg to assist them and they used Borg technology to upgrade voyager's weapons and defence systems. The Borg were still very dangerous and the Voyager crew did not always fare so well against them.
