Question:

Was watching this on DVD last night... Great film; I particularly like the way it ends, as it kind of makes you wonder what happens afterwards. So does Travis drive off and never see his kid again?

Answers:

Yes that's the way I see it.
Have to agree, an excellent film. It's impact doesn't really hit you till it's finished, it's not exactly a thrill a minute film but it's overall effect left a mark on me. Great R2 dvd as well!

Just placed an order for this with Play a couple of days ago. Looking forward to seeing it.

We know that! Shame Travis are a shoddy band.
Texas also named themselves in homage to the film. (See comment about Travis!)
Only good musical association is that Primal Scream sampled a line from the film on Screamadelica. "Yep, I know that feeling."

Wenders filmed a short followup to the film that was to be included on the R1 release of the film - kinda like a short sequel (!!!) but it didn't make it onto any r2 release - :(
Maybe the result wasn't what he wanted or maybe it's still in post-production... Still the AB release is pretty good (I hope they haven't messed up the sound on this release!)

It is only £7.99 at Play at the moment - a bargain!
