Question:
Just received the last 2 issues of Sight and Sound this week and saw the advert for a new DVD release of Claire's Knee from Optimum. Anyone bought it or know the specs?
Apart from this, and Fox Lorber's poor releases, are there any other Rohmer DVDs available?
I think I saw a Four Seasons boxset in Japan but that wouldn't have included English subtitles.
Criterion are doing My Night at Maud's and Claire's Knee next year, if that helps.
It does indeed, thanks! I'll hold off on this UK release then.
'The Lady and the Duke' is available on Regions 1 and 2 - just found that one.
MGM are releasing 'Pauline a la Plage' on 4th March (R1)
;)

Claire's Knee will be much appreciated by me, especially if Criterion do it justice (I have little doubt that it will be excellent).
Along with La Ronde, Pickpocket, Closely Observed Trains and Cleo from 5 to 7, it's part of a quintet of films that opened my eyes (as an insomniac 14 year old watching tv all night) to the possibility that there could be something worthwhile beyond Hollywood.
Claires Knee was a lovely film as was Claire for that matter :)
