Question:
Any owners care to pass comment ? The only R1 UKTV -> NTSC transfer I have is Fawlty Towers and the picture quality is lacking rather. Interested to know if this is okay before I hastily add it to an XMAS present list.
Ta,
Mike.
Didn't know it was out!
Anyone out there got it? I'd love to own this!
amazon.ca can do you the 3-disc version for about £16 delivered w/voucher. I'm sans credit card at the moment so can't order it anyway...
Mike.
OOOh!
Have to add that one to the list! Thanks! :)
Where do I get a voucher from?
This very bargain forum.
Mike.
A UK R2 release is mooted for next year.
That's good news. No R1 owners willing to comment though...I bet the R2 won't be about £16 (!).
Mike.
Flimber - I've got the R1 and very nice it is too! The picture does appeasr sharp and clean, but I really am no expert on picture quality. Not sure if I'd know what an artefact was if it bit me on the arse. I have a few disks with average to mediocre transfers, and this is certainly not one of those, if that's any help....
The only real thing to mention is that each story is presented as a feature and not as episodes (with opening and closing credits). This may or may not be a problem for you.
Steve
I'd be cautious on this one. It's always best to buy discs in the format they were filmed in. I suspect this was filmed in PAL and it would probably be best to wait for the R2 release - or at least see what the price of the R2 is. For this sort of release I doubt it would be TOO expensive - but thats only a thought.
Thanks verily, Mrsteve.
