This is a GREAT set that shows just how a series should be released. Along with all 22 eps you get a superb blooper reel not only featuring outtakes but also the actors mucking about on set. Then there's interviews and a promo reel, but the most work has gone into each episode.
Each episode has a menu screen not only offering the usual chapter breaks, but also background story information on each of the main mortal, and immortal characters in that episode, the weapons used, and even a link to that episodes "Quickening"
I hope we don't have to wait too long for further seasons to come out at a reasonable price!

Sky One are showing the sixth season at the mo, if anyone's interested.
Only problem is, they are showing the episodes at crap times (i.e. 3.55 a.m.).
This is the third time that they have shown this season in the past two months!
as i remember Highlander was a little slow at the beggining, but that could have ben because i was like 14, when it started, or i started watching it. The last episodes are excellent though...i mean that whole 'its a wonderful life' spin on them...fantastic...how long till all the eps are released?

It's hard to say as this set has actually been out for some time but only available from the official web site at a highly inflated price. It's only recently that the usual online suppliers have been able to stock it.
The official site is now selling a best-of set, and they recently sent an email to subscribers stating that season 2 would be available in the new year I think. I'm hoping this isn't just from them again.

Yeah, and when you look at the price, remember that it's a first ever TV release that is a monstrous boxset with NINE discs. Surely is nicely done, retail is $90, got it for $54. Wish X-Files and TNG were released at this price, I'm 2 seasons behind on each of those.

isn't this a different set from the official site only set? i remember reading somewhere that the quality on that one sucked, but this one is ok apparently. i hope they dont release the second series soon tho. my credit card is already over a grand and i havent started buying star trek sets or buffy 4 and 5 yet.

I noticed it was available in Best Buy in Santa Clara area for $49.99 first week of release. didn't buy it but wish I had now :( Will look for other good offers and buy it soon.
The packaging is different on the official site, but the contents look the same.

What official site do you mean? Maybe that's the first $140 website exclusive season 1 in amaray cases that was released a year ago or so. It's a completely different set.
The first season set here: http://www.highlander-official.com/ is identical as far as I can see apart from the packaging?

Anchor Bay will be releasing it to other stores later in Summer 2003.

Yeah, that's what I meant, their formerly exclusive $140 set, it's completely different. By different I mean the packaging. I prefer it actually rather than fold outs.

And they lowered the price $90 and $100 for S1 and S2 respectively, good, but I'll wait for Anchor Bay set and get it for half that, about $55 again.

If they were selling them for $60-70 I'd buy them all. I do like amarays better, more boxes, longer on the shelf, takes its place letting you know "I'm a big damn important and expensive series!"
