Question:
Is there any difference between Band of Brothers from USA
and Canada region 1 versions?
i thought the region 1 was the same from both countries?
I'll be buying it in the Metal Tin version.

No difference as far as I know. No French anywhere.....
Yeah. The Canadian one will be cheaper (Amazon.ca). It'll probably have French scribbling (as well as English) on the booklet or packaging.
Like I said, there is no French anywhere on the Canadian version !

We must have been typing replies at the same time. I haven't received mine from Canada yet, so I'll take your word for it.
It's right in front of me mate. Trust me :)
No french text on my Canadian version, HBO don't seem to bother with french covers.
Definatly NO French anywhere on the Canadian BoB Tin, or indeed, inside on the cardboard foldout (and it doesnt have a booklet)
8-] is definately correct:thumbs:
I think there is a seperate french version, I definitely saw a purely french cover on dvdsoon...
Do you mean this: http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00007CW2T/qid=1038475175/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/171-0263049-7617056

merde sainte!!! If that thing had arrived from Amazon.ca I'd have sent them a ravenous sewer rat as a christmas present
I agree! Not too fussed in the whole bi-lingual thing but Freres D'Armes all over the tin:(

I know you knew, matt sounded a little worried thats all ;)
Don't worry dash - mine from amazon.ca was OK - just relieved this one didn't turn up though - thanks for your concern mate:thumbs:
Mine from amazon.ca is an entirely English box but turns on French subtitles for the intro of each episode by the veterans. Toggling the Spanish (??!) subtitles on/off gets rid of the French ones though.
I also got my canadian band of brothers this morning from amazon.ca, and as you guys said, it is totally english.
Why is it then that ********* are charging £54 for the canadian version, and £65 for the U.S. version, if they are the same??!!!
Strange!?
IMHO.
Spoony.

...maybe to prey on the fears of the non-bi-lingualists:)
could it be that the Canadian one doesnt have ... English subtitles? and the US one does?
the shouldnt make a difference.

Both US and Candian versions have:
English DTS 5.1
English DD 5.1
English DD 2.0
Spanish DD 2.0
French DD 2.0
English commentary DD 2.0
English closed captions subtitles
Spanish subtitles
Info on what closed captions are can be found here: http://www.dvdfile.com/site/faq/caption_guide/
IMO the difference in price at ********* is probably due to the Canadian version being sourced at a cheaper price to the US version. HBO discs are usually indentical in both Canadian and US incarnations.
Anyone know if there's a difference between the R1 and R4 releases of BoB please?
Just noticed a wanted thread by dtsrules is all, which made me wonder.
Missed this when it was on tv. Have thought of ordering it, watching it and then selling on if I don't fancy keeping it.
Cheekster.
R1 comes in the tin and has a DTS soundtrack option.
R4 only comes in a digipack and has no DTS soundtrack.
As a result R4 is considerably cheaper (about £29 delivered) as opposed to R1 (which is more like £45 - £39 currently from amazon.ca but that's due to a $10 off voucher from the bargain forums sticky so not a reflection of the real price).
