Question:
hi, i'm new here, so if this is in the wrong forum let me know...
ok, with this out of the way, here's the question:
i bought Matrix R2 from a local store this week and when i got home i put the dvd into my player and it wouldn't load. it either loaded forever or it loaded and then said "can't play disc".
my player is region free, so this couldn't be the case.
i've tried it a couple of times without success. all my other dvds worked without problems.
i went to my friend's house and we tried it on his player, which is by the way the same as mine (Pioneer DV 350-S) and it didn't work either. I was sure that it had to be the dvd, so i went back to the store and we tried it there and it didn't work also, so they exchanged it and we tried the new one and it worked alright. But at home it still wouldn't start. this time it loaded, but didn't play anything. i pressed play and it started playing (at least that's what it showed), but the screen was black.
it seems strange to me, that this dvd would also be corrupted, but i don't think it's my player, 'cause it plays everything else i throw at it...
any ideas, what might be wrong?
tnx
Try it on your mates system. If it plays OK you know you have a problem with your DVD player, but if you find the same problem, take the DVD back to the shop, get a refund and buy it from somewhere else because this store has a dodgy batch of Matrix DVDs - it happens sometimes.
Welcome to the forums, anyway!

Orrrr... get the much better R4 version :)
I think perhaps your player is telling you that the R2 one has been butchered and it doesn't want to have to play it. Get it the R1 or R4 and I'm sure all will be well. :D
i will try it on my friend's system. it seems like the only logic thing left to do. it's just so frustrating, i bought the player 3 weeks ago, bought a new tv to go with the player and now i can't watch a dvd i want :(
damn!!
