Question:
Got this disc when it was first released and it played through fine as I watched it straight away... lent it to my brother recently (who takes care of discs) and he found that it started to pixellate at around chapter 13.
Denzel and Ethan are in the car, drive to the end of the neighbourhood then just as they get out of the car it starts to go. Anything after this point just goes the same way if you skip forward and then eventually everything locks up. We've both got Pioneer 717's but have tried in other players since and it's the same.
The playing surface is absolutely spotless, no scratches, marks or anything out of the ordinary. The only thing that does look odd is the centre edge of the foil which looks almost as if it's burnt/corroded but this is way outside the normal playing area (ie. well into the clear area where the spindle hole is).
Any ideas? Can anyone confirm whereabouts the layer change is on this disc as I think that might be where it starts to go wrong. Also, anyone else had any WB discs that suddenly stop playing?
