Question:
If you were to write a film for an actor to try and help rebuild his career, who would it be and why?
The reason I ask is I watched Highlander:Endgame at the weekend for the first time, and seeing Christopher Lambert in this tripe made me think of it.
So my choice would be Christopher Lambert for giving us the original Highlander, giving his career a peak that he has never come close to repeating.
Nice Topic :)
Ray Liotta - has never come anywhere near the majesty of Goodfellas; & though he was overshadowed by De Niro & Pesci, still turns in a very good performance.
I agree nice topic
Rutger Hauer, loved most of his 80s films (The Hitcher, Flesh & Blood, Blind Fury). I've always felt he was underated and he's deserved better than the likes of Split Second.
Yes, all 3 aforementioned actors are much more capable and talented than the roles and films they're in now, especially Rutger Hauer. He might have an interesting role in George Clooney's Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
Tarantino is always said to "revive" actor's careers, like with Travolta, Pam Grier and Forster, but like he says himself, he just picks the best actor for the role, and since he is so good at it, it works out well for everyone. So Rutger Hauer and Lambert are just not on that "list" anymore because of some wrong choices and unfairness.
To add, Linda Fiorentino deserves some starring vehicles, she's way better than Julia Roberts OR Sandra Bullock, and needs some meaty roles like The Last Seduction's.
Something happened to Judge Reinhold too, making 4-5 straight to video crappies every year.
Slightly more obscure but i'd like to see Tracey Walter (most famous for Repo Man) and Paul Barber ( most famous for Only Fools and Horses!) have bigger roles in bigger films.

Seems she's pretty difficult to work with though, hence director's are reluctant to cast her.
Stallone (hes better then Arnie, but is now reduced to rubbish), Van Damme (in need of another big hit before he fades out), Mickey Rourke(Angelheart shows how good he can be), Christopher Lambert (Highlander and Greystoke are top notch) ... I think they could all do with another good film!
also would like to see the comedians making new films, Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Dan Akroyd and Chevy Chase!
and if you though Endgame was bad, you should avoid Fortress 2! :shocker:
Garry Bussey:notworthy , Brian Dennehy:thumbs: & Theresa Russell :rocker: - all fantastic actor all mostly overlooked or consigned to TV movies
Mike Keaton - some great career performances, and great diversity.
