Question:
Just bought the new Izzard show but can't watch it 'till I get home tonight!
Anyone seen it? Does it stand up to Definate Article/Glorious/Dress to Kill? Is it recycled material or all new?
Just looked on the chapter menu - it includes a routine called "Death Star Canteen" - can't wait!
OOh thanks another disc added to my XMAS list
It's very funny, recorded in New York about 2 years ago i think. The Death Star stuff is very funny, all about Darth trying to get served in the Death Star canteen.
yay!
and "dress to kill" is out in R1 on Nov 26th!
and only £12.99 from Play.com too!
It's as recycled as all hell, though. I took my girlfriend (a huge Izzard fan - me, I couldn't care less) and she was just mouthing along to the jokes almost word for word, very disappointing indeed.
It even got mentioned on that bastion of quality journalistic television Watchdog if I remember correctly. :oh-hum:

I remember hearing about this at the time, but I watched it last night and there was only about 30 seconds of recycled material, so I reckon this show must've been towards the end of the tour when he'd developed some new stuff.
Bloody funny stuff too, especially with Geoff Vader trying to get served at the Deathstar canteen....
damn funny, very little i'd heard before.
the dressed to circle feature is an entire show in french -with optional english subs:clap: - and is very funny but i had heard much of this before, the banner on the stage says circle so it's possible this was the tour that was recycled, he does mention he'd done it in many countries, it seems like and inbetween show from dressed to kill and cirle, hence the name i suppose.

"Le plume de mon oncle est bingy-bongy-bingy-bong."
"Non! Le plume de mon oncle c'est ne pas 'bingy-bongy-bingy-bong'! Quest-ce que vous dit? Vous est un poutin!"
"Je ne suis un poutin. Je n'avais pas sex pour l'argent. Quest-ce VOUS dit? Vous cassette?"
"Ah, pardon, vous avais raison. 'Je suis seulement un cassette, et je n'avais pas les pantalons...' ...it's an old song...."
