Question:
I'm waiting for another couple of years then watching all three one weekend.
Deaks.
no
i have a passionate dislike for tolkien and generally abhor big hollywood movies like that
I wouldn't worry I have seen it twice and disliked it both times. You aint missing much.
touch wood, but what if i bus hits you???
be an awful shame, even if you never see all of them, there's still something worthwhile there.... also unless a cinema near you does some LOTR weekend in 2004, you'll miss out on seeing them on the big screen, which would be a real shame, i 've got a 43" RPTV and even still it doesn't look as good as it did at the cinema... though you could solve that by getting a front projection system, and by 2004 would be cheaper.
but i can see the attraction of seeing all three in one go!! wish i had the patience, go for it!! just make sure you look both ways when crossing the road!! :notworthy
As someone who thinks that Tolkein is servely overrated and certianly cannot understand the fuss being made over LOTR, I have to admit I thought Peter jackson made a good stab at an enjoyable film that was reasonably accessible to non fans. Made me wish hed directed Phantom <enace and Attack of Clones instead of GL.
although it isnt as good as everyone makes it out to be, it is pretty enjoyable.
i tried to read the books, but Tolkien fills it up with so much useless crap i gave up on it.
Well I saw it at the cinema and disliked it enormously, more that E Wood actor, he just can't act, found him annoying - up there with Jar Jar.
No rush to see it either:thumbs:
All the hype put me off :oh-hum:
Brighteyes has only watched half so far.
We both love it :D
Well, I really wanted to read them, but couldn't get through the first book, so gave up, but I thought the film was excellent, and can't wait for the next two.
I can also see tha attraction of waiting until all the DVDs are released, as it will be a fantastic 12 disc set, if the other two films come out in the same format as FOTR, but patience is not one of my virtues! ;)
I have'nt seen it either.

Wot he said. :)
Don`t like elves & goblins & wizards and :dork: stuff like that.
Didn't read the books, didn't see it at the cinema but bought it on DVD expecting th worst.
Loved it! Found it the most enjoyable and engaging film I have seen this year. One of those films you have to make your own mind up about me thinks.
Harry Potter on the other hand I found complete crap! :)
I haven`t seen it either, infact i had a dream about it last night. My girlfriend said i was tolkien in my sleep
I'll probably watch it eventually but it's no way near my current 'must watch' list.

What he said, never been into that kind of fiction, even as a child I preferred war and sci-fi and drama. :|

i take back what i said about the film.
just watched the EE, the first time ive seen it on DVD. And i enjoyed it immensly (maybe cos i was more comfortable).
this film is a cinematic masterpiece !!
im not a fan of the books or :dork:s but you really have to watch this if you like epics.
I read it when I was about 12. I've a had Malaysian bare-bones 'special release' for about 6 months now but I can't summon up any enthusiasm at all. One day, maybe ...

So everyone raving and saying it was incredible, one of the greatest films, etc. actually put you off seeing it?
What if everyone said it was tosh? Would you see it then?
