Question:
As header. I am probably going over to America next year, will the collected edition (5 Disk) still be available?
If so I might leave getting it till then so that I can avoid customs.
Any ideas?

Get it from DVDSoon......you'll almost always avoid customs.
Depending on how long you wait, The Two Towers may be out then, so interest in this boxset will increase again and also there will probably be some pointless two pack (like Episode I & II)

It'll cost a lot more in the shops...
are you moving or just holiday? can't imagine it being very healthy transporting it yourself along with other airplane baggage.. it won't be very limited for sure after all that!!
i don't think they are limited though, i just imagine High street stores won't stock them all year round, due to the huge space it takes... and as mentioned before, New Line would be fools not to have them available during the Return Of The King run.. and i think people will want to get all three boxes side by side, and many people aren't even buying the DVDs until all films have been released for fear of superior versions being released (although i don't think that will happen). And New Line need to think about those people, limited editions for popular products don't exactly equate to decent profits.
no one has reported any Limited Edition numbers on the boxes, so i think there's your answer :)
Think the R2 packaging may be limited though. Only the first run may be in the cardboard case and the rest in the nasty 4 disc amaray that they used for Blade 2.
The UK R2 big box set is limited to 100,000 copies.
If so I might leave getting it till then so that I can avoid customs.
