Question:
As header really. I want to know whether it is worth getting region 1 for the extra disc. Is there any crossover with 4 disc extended edition as regards to information covered?
Thanks.

well i haven't gone through the extras on the 4-disc yet.. but the National Geographic is done in a way i doubt the extra features mirror.. it's basically trying to show how the book relates to real life. like the foundation of the Elvish language, and the inspiration behind kick starting Tolkein. And it's all done very well.
I know i learnt a lot from the documentary, and i doubt they'd have included it with the box unless the content was different to the 4-disc. Although i suspect a tiny bit of crossover, but the documentary is made in such a way i don't think you'd mind.
Also this new version has two new featurettes and a photo gallery, though i don't know how substantial they are, i haven't played the disc yet...
:)

(it does compare it with the R1 disc) HTH :)
Surely the R4 is the one to get? Not the R1
Thanks.
