Indeed it does

The R1 "Bootleg" Edition & the R2 2 DVD edition are indeed the same films & extras on the discs, except one is in NTSC & the other in PAL :D

Answers:

Wonder if they've sourced a better print for the R2 bootleg.. the R1 print is almost unwatchable throughout the second half. Don't know why they couldn't have just spliced in the extra bits into the theatrical version

Army of darkness has to be about the most re-released film ever, I can count at least 5 region 1 versions alone!
- The original release
- The limited edition silly money on e-bay version
- The directors cut limited edition (I've got number 9 of this release :-))
- The two disc version with the last two versions together
- The bootleg version
Is that right or have I made up a few versions?

Answers:

no i think they are exactly the same.
wish the euro version was available

What's with the Euro version?

Answers:

contains extra scenes that arnt in the US ones.
i havent actually seen it, but ive heard about it. And if you buy the VHS or watch the recent Carlton Cinema showings, they should be the Euro version of the film.

Answers:

i thought one of the cuts on this 2 disc set was the euro version, directors cut i think-, and the other was the US. aking it the same as the silly money 2 disc deleted US set.
or am i in for a dissapointment when play finally deliver this?

Answers:

Is there any difference between each version apart from the ending? On my VHS copy i have:
Ending 1
Where Ash sleeps for too long and wakes to find the world has been destroyed
and
Ending 2
Where Ash gets back alright and is boasting in the supermarket and then gets attacked by zombies again

Answers:

whats the DTS on, the new UK R2 or the bootleg?

The director's cut has extra scenes in it. I think that the skeleton battle scenes in particular are longer.
Agree with Sneeka about the print quality on the R1 Bootleg - It's dire!:(
:)

Answers:

yes there dts on the r2 release
even though there no mention of it on the cover

Answers:

dts on R2 AoD?? WTF?! And it'll be going for 99p as part of Play's sales soon enough! Still, I did buy the R1 single disc versions ages ago, so there's no point in crying over spilt dvds. But still, WTF!?! :(

How is the packaging of the new UK DVD Set? Double-thick Amaray?

WOW, cinematic 80s experience or what ? (well 80s stlye), i loved the opening music plus the narration, and still it remains completely cheesy

cant wait till i watch the rest.

The picture on the Director's Cut is still absolutely appalling in sections. :oh-hum:
Nevermind, it's still top fun.

Hence, the idea that it's a bootleg. Saves the film company having to put out a decent complete version. Yeah, just slap it in a faux paper bag cover. The fans will love it.
Still, I'm going to have to buy it. :dork:
I take it the pic quality < in general > is as good as the OOP R1 version? I always held out on the eBay madness for this.
Boink!

Answers:

The picture quality is mostly the same as the normal version, its only the added scenes which are grainy and poor
