Paul Champagne Design DVD Storage
Question:

Anyone got any of this guy's boxes?. They look pretty good quality, but with an average price of £18, I wouldnt invest unless someone could confirm their worth.
Heres and example:

And here's his site

I agree they look nice but it is just a bit of extra packaging - why not invest in more films?

Answers:

Especially considering once they are on teh shelf you can only see a bit of the packaging anyway.
It does looke very nice - but almost £20 for a disk box? Not me - but there are plenty of people who would.....
I'd bet that if HMV sold them, they would get a lot of sales.

I have the View Askew Trilogy box and IMHO they are worth the money if your a big fan of the films you get one for. They are made using propper laser equipment to engrave each box with the design and can be made to any size to fit your need (eg. the Army of Darkness set can have space for the double amaray case or single depending on which one you have).
Again, its a matter of opinion and how much you care for packaging. As im a big fan of the View Askew flicks and packaging i got one and im very pleased with it.

A mate in work bought the Jurassic Park one and it’s very nice indeed. The only thing I didn’t like was that he chose to have the picture in colour and it didn’t look that nice. Had it all been in silver as pictured on the website it would have been far better.
Also if you look closely you can see how they are joined together and my mate’s started to come away, this was soon rectified with a little super glue and may have just been a one off problem and not a regular occurrence.
Delivery was fairly quick and it arrived well packaged. Overall if they were a little cheaper I'd buy a few but as it is I don't think I'll bother.

Mmmmmmmm.............some interesting thoughts, thanks. I will give it some more thought though. I am looking to replace my Jurassic Park R2 JP1&2 boxset as its badly damaged with age. I dont want to include JP3 though as that version is a boxset on its own.
Thanks for your advice though.

Lol well no-one can accuse me of not searching for similar threads but anyway being as this is the only Paul Champagne thread i thought why not:D.
I havent visited the Champayne site in a few years and i was absolutly astonished to see some of the sets he has on there now. Star Wars cases for the Original Trilogy and the bonus disc or a 7 disc one for the original trilogy with bonus disc, Menace, Clones and the Sith (when released). All very nice indeed. He aslo has a Case for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, either the 2disc version or the Extended Editions. Personnaly i think it's a great idea getting the one for the EE's just to keep them safe from shelf damage especially the thinner R2 versions.
Gethinnadin - Did you ever order anything and what were the postage costs? I cant get onto the order page at the minute.

I bought the Friday the 13th box at one time and my only criticism was that the art looked a little dull when printed on the material used.

Can you remember how much extra you had to pay for shipping? I cant get onto the order page at the minute.

some of these are very beautiful and I must admit to having a weak spot for packaging but it would help if the website had more details on material, construction etc.
EDIT I am a fool it's all in Home, I really wish there was a Romero boxset.

I'm sure i remember that you used to be able to request cases being made. Not sure if he charges extra for that though. I'm sure there be loads of people after the Romero set.

I never did order any....still might be interested though. It depends how good and sturdy the box is.

I have the colour Evil Dead trilogy and black and White Star Wars cases. And they both get a  The construction is very sturdy; metal is used for the top and bottom panels, the printed sides are some sort of plastic sheet (don't let this put you off thought). The packing to the UK is top notch too.

I quite like the Kill Bill one but ive got no idea why it would hold 3cases.. Surely it should only be for 2.

Yeah. The Indiana Jones box had space for 5 discs?? It mentioned an extra space for an upcoming release. What on earth is that? Can't be the 4th film.

Lol, it really is Indy 4 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367882/) . The 5 spaces must be for the 4 films and the bonus disc from the Trilogy.

I have about 10 of his boxes for Anime titles.
They are expensive for what they are but they really can brighten up an otherwise set of dull discs into a nice display box.
Paul C. will always answer your mails ASAP and pack and ship the goods in a pro. fashion.
So I would recommend using them (apart from the cost they are a good place to shop).

The Matrix one looks good - and would hide the mix of snappers and amarays I ended up with. The missus, however, is giving me that look for even thinking of spending dosh on, in her words, 'an empty box'. :(

Will the Matrix case be able to hold a mixture of maray and snapper cases? I know the Batman is measured specifically for snappers. I would wait wait for the matrix 10 discer myself.
