Bond Boxes
Question:

Is this (http://www.dv-depot.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=129376) the first of a series of box sets, each containing 6 or 7 different films? So, when the last one is released, you will have all the Bond films?
If so, when are the others being released and will the last box come out in time for the DVD of the new film, i.e. months away?

Answers:

Autumn 2003 - box 2
Autumn 2004 - box 3

Where did you find that out?

That was the announcement. www.thedigitalbits.com and others have the info on their sites.

I've been considering the R2 complete box recently, until the stories of 'DVD-rot (or whatever it is)' occuring with them (they are MGM discs after-all, my Silence of the Lambs is now unplayable)...
So, I was looking at the R1 boxes of 7. Although 2 years seems a stupid amount of time to wait for them all. The previous release of these discs like this was less than 2 years ago.

Maybe it's worth waiting for some vanilla releases or even two disc sets, so that we at least get the film encoded at a reasonable bitrate.
Some of my R1s are awful.:oh-hum:

I can't see the point in buying a R2 box set that will only contain space for 19 movies. Where will the new movie go?
And then the next one . . .and the one after that. . . . . .?
Do we keep having to sell and re-buy? The DVD market is getting a bit of a joke with so many distributors now taking us for a big fat money ride.. .
There. . . .I had my say.

It will have space for Die Another Day. Die Another Day completes the '007' logo on the spine too. So newer Bonds will look out of place with others anyway. Also it will be at least 18 months until the next Bond is out on DVD too.

TWINE completed the gun logo on the spines but it’d be easy enough to make Die Another Day fit in design wise just by having a black spine. Die Another Day is scheduled for DVD release second quarter 2003. The box is designed to hold 20 but with a bit of effort 21 can be squeezed in which’ll see the entire Brosnan run complete sometime in 2005.

I was going to buy those R1 Boxes as they are only $70 locally but don't want to wait another 2 years for the rest :( But can't really get a Tin box sent over without customs and large shipping costs

Answers:

I was only going to buy the R2 tin box set as the films work out at less than £8.50 each.
I was not really bothered about the tin box, I wouldn't keep the DVDs in it....

I have the original set of these box sets. Bit of a bummer I wont have room for Bond 20 in my collection, or for the two none offical bond films :(
