I have previously asked if there is a Region 2 version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I understand there are copies available on Dutch and German Language sutes only. But does anybody know why it has not been released in England ?!!

Answers:

There's nothing on amazon.co.uk
There is a R1 available - cheapest place is DVDBoxOffice (http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/description.asp?pid=10004348) for about £13.50 delivered.
This question should really be in the DVD/Movie Forum

It's owned by diffeent distributors around Europe. There are also French and Dutch versions but, as they're from local companies, you could probably expect burnt in subtitles. UK distributor would be Universal.

I've got the German R2 version of this film...it's not got burnt in subs, has 5.1 and has an excellent transfer...you can get it quite cheaply (less than £14, iirc) from Amazon Deutschland:thumbs:

Based on what tinder said I'd also recommend the German version because the R1 one is only in Dolby Poo.

No mention yet of the upcoming Criterion which sounds fantastic and may be Region Free.
