Hurrah - the Blue Peter item is Leslie Judd I believe, showing how to make a (startlingly accurate) teleport bracelet out of old plastic bottles and silver paper!

here is the latest news
The provisional_ release date for the Season 1 Blake's 7 DVDs is now
31st March 2003 (originally listed as January 2003.) However it is
possible that the release will be delayed further - we'll keep you
posted. At this time there are no projected release dates for Seasons
2, 3 or 4 but again we'll let you know as soon as there is some news.
The extra features will be centred around a 4 part documentary, The
Making of Blake's 7, directed by Kevin Davies (well known for 30
Years in the TARDIS and his work on the TV series & DVDs of The Hitch-
Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.) Consultants on the project are Andrew
Pixley and Rob Emery. Some years ago work was started on a Blake's 7
documentary, but after just a couple of days filming the project was
shelved. The DVD documentary will contain interviews and features
recorded at that time alongside new material. Some of the cast & crew
originally interviewed who will feature in this new documentary were
Jacqueline Pearce, Jan Chappell, Stephen Greif, Brian Croucher, Peter
Tuddenham, David Maloney, Vere Lorrimer, Chris Boucher and Mat
Irvine. Recently interviewed for The Making of Blake's 7 documentary
were Gareth Thomas, Sally Knyvette, Michael Keating, Jan Chappell,
Steven Pacey, David Jackson, Pennant Roberts, Roger Murray-Leach,
A.J. 'Mitch' Mitchel, June Hudson, Sheelagh Wells and Stuart Fell.
Commentaries on the episodes have also been recorded with Jacqueline
Pearce, Sally Knyvette, Michael Keating, Jan Chappell, Stephen Greif,
Brian Croucher, David Maloney and Chris Boucher, with more recordings
planned.
Although it isn't yet certain what other extra features will make it
onto the DVDs, it is hoped that they may include some of the Blake's
7 items which featured in other shows, such as 'Swap Shop' and 'Blue
Peter' (how to make teleport bracelets out of sticky-back plastic &
drinks bottles!!) as well as excerpts from the famous 'Blooper Tape'
edited by Sheila Tomlinson, and previously unseen out-takes and
scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor.
The RRP of the Season 1 DVDs is listed as £49.99. Various online
shops have given prices below this but it is Horizon's intention to
offer at least as good a deal as the cheapest of these, and will
shortly let you know exactly what this will be. We are also planning
to offer an exclusive 'extra' of our own to anyone ordering in
advance. However, until the 'projected dates' are actually confirmed
by BBC Worldwide, it isn't necessary to pre-order and pay this far in
advance as if the release date is delayed further, your money may be
tied up unnecessarily. However, it would be helpful for us to know
how many of you ARE planning to buy the Season 1 DVDs, so please send
an email to dvds@horizon.org.uk as soon as possible, so we can gauge
the interest. (This doesn't commit you to buying, of course.)
We've also been asked about whether the 'Making of Blake's 7'
documentary and other BBC Worldwide special features will be
available in a Region 1 format. At this time, our understanding is
that all extra value content is being produced with the international
market in mind, however the final elements still need to be cleared
for international copyright which can only be done towards the end of
production when exact content is known.
So, start saving up your credits - the DVDs are going to be
brilliant - and once there's more definite news, we'll let you know
as soon as we can.
Don't forget to visit the HORIZON website!

Does anyone notice how conspicuously absent a certain Paul Darrow is from all the lists of commentators and interviewees above?
How is this possible? He hasn't become Harrison Ford, has he??

Why is this all taking so long? At this rate it’ll be Xmas 2004 before the whole thing is out not that anyone will be buying the last 2 seasons anyway ;)

Just saw an advert on EuroNews for the CeBit exhibition in Germany for March 2003. The serious "presenter" standing with the micophone looked very familiar. Then it hit me.
It was Avon. :smokin: (Looking very different due to the years).
I surprised myself by recognising him, as I was not a big Blakes's 7 fan. :dork:

Answers:

Where on earth is Paul Darrow in the commentary or interviews for gods sake?
He is the central character for most of the series and certainly the most interesting, I thought he was all into promoting Blakes7 and his role as Avon - some sort of argument with the bbc or something?

I got all excited when I looked at the first volume of The Water Margin that I received today as it had previews of Monkery and B7 in the extras. Monkey got a nice few minute montage of clips over the theme, but all we got for B7 was the opening titles.

I'm buying the individual volumes as I like decent cases for my money. The picture quality isn't great, but then that's probly the source material. There's also no chapter stops in the eps.
