Question:
It's round 8 for the Halloween series which has some catching up to do as Friday The 13th is already in double figures. Michael Myers, the motiveless killer in the bleached Captain Kirk mask, has survived being beheaded in the last installment, the surprisingly good Halloween H20, through a plot twist that the writers of Dallas would have been proud of. After a lengthy, largely irrelevent opening sequence featuring his nemesis Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael heads back to his hometown of Haddonfield for his annual ritual of stabbing people for no apparent reason.
Meanwhile opportunistic reality TV producer Busta Rhymes is setting up a webcast in which a group of college kids will spend the night in Myers' old house. This is the second horror film in a month to use the reality TV gimmick, the first being My Little Eye. It's interesting how both films have similar characters - the heroine, the wannabe starlet, the sarcastic grunger. Comparing them, My Little Eye has much better writing, acting and direction but Halloween is more honest about being a slasher film and isn't entirely shot on digital video, which may well be the worst cinematic development of all time.
Not that Halloween is in any way good but if you prefer your slasher movies old school, with expendable teenage casts, tits and gore, you may get more of a kick out of it than you expect. It does have one decent gimmick too - the heroine's helped by a geeky teenager watching the webcast and alerting her to Michael's whereabouts on her PDA.
This is still crap though. Director Rick Rosenthal hasn't improved as a director since he made Halloween II and there are no good shocks or memorable scenes. Worst of all, they undermine their biggest asset, Michael Myers, one of the screen's scariest villains by turning him into a lumbering Jason clone who can be knocked down and kung-fu kicked around by an annoying rap star.
I quite liked the film although it is a major step down from H20. I thought after seeing it that it would have been better to have the Jamie Lee Curtis cameo at the end of the film, have the action at the house, and then have him go after Laurie, it would have made their face off more climatic.
Although many people think Laurie loses I agree with Jamie Lee Curtis in that she wins because after all Michael has done to her she is not afraid of him or death, and the fact that her demise is largely down to her doing the right thing and having to be sure it's him seems appropriate.
The main bulk of the film is entertaining enough, although the ending is lame and i would see a Halloween 9 just to see Michael kill the rather annoying kung-fu fan.
this film not that bad actually. although this is my order
1.halloween
2.halloween h20
3.halloween reserection
4.halloween 3: sotw
5.halloween 4
6.halloween 2
7.halloween 5
8.halloween, the curse of MM
Mine is
Halloween
Halloween 4
Halloween 3
Halloween - The curse of Michael Myers - Producers Cut
Halloween 2
Halloween 5
Halloween - The curse of Michael Myers
Halloween Resurrection
I have no interest in seeing Halloween Resurrection due the ending of H20, how could they make another one?
Anyway it's funny that Michael Myers doesn't appear in Halloween 3! Strange one that!
Here's my list
Halloween
Halloween 3
The rest are crapola of the highest order.
This is a bad, bad, bad movie that insults the audience and should never have been made...words fail me. :)

the series in order for me would be -
Halloween
Halloween H20
Halloween: Resurrection
Halloween 2
Halloween 5
Halloween 4
Halloweeen 3
Halloween: The curse of Michael Myers
I can't imagine anything in the producers cut of Part 6 would improve it much.
Easily the 2nd best Halloween Sequel!
Nice spin on the slasher film with the Big Brother style plot, also they did a great job on explaining how Myers had returned.
Ive never been a great fan of the Halloween sequels (androids in the awful part 3 :D) and after seeing Busta Ryhmes in the cast list, I expected the worst but was suprised as its actually a good slasher! ... much better then Jasons last outing too!

but then all through the film you would have wondered how Myers returned. I think the opening did a good job of explaining and writing out Jamie Lee Curtis which was also well handled
but if you prefer your slasher movies old school, with expendable teenage casts, tits and gore, you may get more of a kick out of it than you expect
maybe this is why I liked it ... perfect slasher ;)

I thought the point of Halloween films was to kill his family, so after killing Laurie at the start it makes the rest of the film pointless, does he go to find Laurie's son, no he goes home and kills kids in his house for no reason
