Question:
Hi.
Does anyone know if the R4 spider-man collectors edition dvd is dual encoded for R2 as well as R4?
Thx in advance for any help with this!
Says it is here (http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ReviewID=2068) and it's usually a very reliable site :)
DVD Genie also says it is both R2 and R4

Welcome to the forums NightRain :)
Thanks chaps!
Unfortunately this doesnt answer my question-I was asking about the spider-man collectors edition boxset with the comic etc.
I can't find any info about this on michealdvd.com. Has anyone bought this and tried it?
Hope someone can help!
Thanks :)
Glad to be here

That would be the Limited Edition, not the Collectors Editions. And the Limited editions contains the same two discs as the collectors, plus a couple of extra discs, so yes, it too is R2 and R4

I don't think they'll make separate transfers for the CE - the cost would be prohibitive to do a special non-R2 compatible R4 wouldn't it? If you know which supplier you intend getting it from then email them to confirm. Most sell to the UK and are aware of the issues.
Simplest solution though is to get your machine multi-region and not have to worry.
Otherwise buy it and sell it on ebay and make a profit - that's what many would do :)
