Question:
I did a deal for a sealed copy of this months ago (no receipt). Just opened it and the disc looks as though it is splattered with something watery and it also looks cloudy in places. It won't play. What can I do about it?
Have you tried cleaning up the surface of the disk?
I know you shouldn't have to, but might be worth a go.
Isn't this an MGM title? Maybe this can be added to Silence of the Lambs and The Terminator as a disc that they will replace?

Maybe it is time to have this as a sticky.

No pun intended I hope? :norty:
Just checked my Never say never again, there is a small cloudy patch on the edge of mine now. Will play it tomorrow to see if it effects it.
Both my Terminator and Silence of the lambs have it quite badly, but they seem to play fine though.

I keep saying that. It's a big issue and I'm sure it affects a lot of people. Oh well, I've put it in my signature for now but we'll just have to bump the thread now and again to make sure it doesn't fall off the bottom.
Take your disc into the kitchen, soap your hands with whatever soap you use and gently rub the disc between your fingers until it's soaped. Wash the soap off with cold or tepid water and shake off the excess water. Stand the disc on a kitchen towel label down and leave to dry. Polish with a good spectacle lens cloth and try playing it.
I've cleaned up my NSNA R2 and Terminator R2 with isopropyl alcohol (tape-head cleaning fluid) with perfect results. And the cloudiness hasn't returned...
A.
Just soaped it and waiting for it to dry but it does look slightly better but I think I may have put a little scratch in it.
holy cow!, just decided to look at my Terminator discs and they too suffer the cloudyness.
Looks nasty too, eeek. :(
It works
