Question:
I read somewhere on this forum recently about both versions of E.T coming to R2, I think.
Can somewhere tell me where to get it from if it's already out?
I've tried play but they only have the 20th anniversary edition, same as the highstreet shops.
Any ideas?
There is a three disc version that will feature the 20th Anniversary version and the original 1982 version being released on 9th December.
Thanks DarkAvenger:thumbs:

I thought 'they' resolutely WEREN'T releasing the '82 version in R2 (hence the reason everybody went R1-mental)?
Have any companies actually posted specs (I had a quick look @ Play & Amazon, to no avail)?
Any info/links gratefully received! :)

The point is that if you buy the 2-disc R1 you get no 50min. documentary & if you buy the 3-disc R1 you get no DTS on the 1982 cut of the film...
The R2 3-disc specs seem to indicate the best of both worlds!

I thought it was just the Cannadian that didn't get DTS on the 1982 version because it has a French 5.1?

Incorrect.
I actually have both R2 and canadian R1 version and I can absolutely confirm that the R1 theatrical version does have DTS.
In fact the only difference between the two (apart from the way the disc's are presented) is the canadian R1 is missing a feature called Space Exploration which isn't that good anyway.

Neither the Canadians NOR the Americans got DTS on the '82 version in the THREE disc set, only in the TWO disc set!
The disc containing the '82 cut in the R1 THREE disc set has English, French & Spanish 5.1, hence NO DTS...
Also, the R1 TWO disc set gets a 24 minute 'Making Of ET' which is NOT on the R1 THREE disc set...
Just to confuse matters further (!), neither the R2 nor R4 specs spell out EXACTLY what's going to be on their respective THREE disc sets as far as I'm aware - ANYONE HELP?!?
:smokin:
so the R1 2 disc set has DTS on both ?
