Good news eh ?

What a scam. Carlton have probably had this extra material sitting in the vaults for ages, and still released the original discs without any extras! Bet the same will happen with the Auf Wiedersehn Pet DVD's in the near future too. :oh-hum:
The Anchor Bay Carry On boxset is due later this year. Does anyone know if that will feature any extras? I know there were mentions of more widescreen editions in the boxset, but not much else.

Precisely my point in my comment on the DVD Times item on these releases. Carlton seem to be taking a leaf out of Warner and Universal's books.
I truly feel sorry for anyone who rushed out and bought the lot earlier this year.

The Anchor Bay box set from Region 1 contains all 12 releases plus That's Carry on, all anamorphic 1.66 widescreen. The only extras are trailers. Not sure if this box set is being replicated or even bettered in region 2

Not wishing to be heartless but there aren't many of them left are there? Jim Dale, Barbara Windsor, Jack Douglas, can't think of many more....

As long as they bring out a decent version of "Carry On Screaming" I will be happy. I won't be upgrading my "Carry On Up The Khybur" though.
Boink!

Khyber and aboard i will be replacing due to the picture being crap. Abroad is the worst and Khyber is ok but the colour on film fluctuates

Have they said anything about using a different/better print of these this time or undertaking any restoration work? We may well find that the new editions are just as crap printwise, with a few nice extras tacked on.

i am undecided wether to go for the R1 or the R2 Carry on boxset...
Are there any reviews out?

I remember when Carlton brought out 'Genevieve S.E',which had been remastered, supposedly. The transfer was barely any better than the standard edition.

And the sound, I seem to remember, sounded narrowly better on the first release, whereas the Genevieve SE sound had less top-end...
