Question:
I just got around to disc 2 of my spanking new Buffy 5 boxset - and I'm experiencing my first real trouble (Angel season 1 is quite scratched so that my Wharfdale stalls during ep1, but my Toshiba pays it perfectly) with the package design.
Partway through No Place Like Home, the disc halted. Looking at it, there are concentric squares of stuff on the data side, which wouldn't wash off (under my admittedly feeble attempts, trying not to make it worse).
Eventually, I looked in the packaging for clues - and found no protective sheet in the card holder. Even closer inspection reveals the sheet is crammed down into the card sleeve.
So, apparently Fox are in such a rush to get these out the door that they're not even waiting for the glue to dry in their unnecessarily complicated packaging, to the detriment of me - who knows how long I'll be without the set (if I wasn't worried about the replacement disc getting scratched, I'd just ask for that replaced), and I'll no doubt have to pay the return postage myself.
Nice one, Fox.
Does anyone have any tips for dealing with dvd.co.uk and/or Fox in these matters? I've sent email to returns@dvd.co.uk explaining the issue.
Cheers,
Nik Borton
Hi Nik
I'm sorry you have had these problems with the buffy box set.
Returns@dvd.co.uk should deal with the matter in the next 48hrs. If you don't get a response by then give me a mail matthew@dvd.co.uk
Thanks

Wow, thanks for the prompt reassurance.
And all's well that ends well - DVD.co.uk are cool so you shouldn't have any probs :)
Sorry to hear about the problem Nik, checked mine and all is OK, but it is right at the bottom of my "to view" pile at the moment. Oh, and welcome to the Forums, hope you have a good time here.
Paul :)
My Discs 2 and 3 of the Buffy season 5 set just refuse to play on my Toshiba. They don't load and are quite badly marked, although they've only ever been out of the packaging twice each.
I will be phoning DVD.CO.UK today, but already knowing how good they are, I'm sure I won't have any problems.
I noticed mine were scuffed too after taking them carefully out. I'm sure some of these marks were picked up when they were shoved in the pockets during the packing process. Thankfully them seem to play fine so far, but I've put them in amarays for the time being so as not to pick up any more scuff marks. Packaging may look brilliant, but doesn't do any wonders for the discs.
Why has NikBorton been banned?
An old person who was banned Re-registering as a different name maybe?
