Question:
Hi Everybody :)
First time posting, though i been lurking for a while now
Wondered if anyone can come up with a title for the following film:
It was shown on terrestial tv maybe 2/3 years ago, probably BBC1, and was an Australian film. It started off with a mother bringing up her son in a room without allowing him any contact with the outside world. Eventually the boy rebels and kills his mother (wrapping her up in cling film :shocker: ).
After escaping the room, he takes up with a rock group, eventually becoming the lead singer.
Another one if i may: A colleague on another Forum was asking if anyone knew of this film title:
it was made in late 70's/early 80's and was a British horror/thriller. The film was about two girls in yellow raincoats who went around killing people, and the last scene was when one of them stabbed a priest through the neck.
Thanks in advance if anyone can come up with the titles for these.
Regards Gareth
Bad Boy Bubby (http://uk.imdb.com/Title?0106341)

Thanks Garry, thats the one
Cheers Gareth

Sounds like Alice, Sweet Alice aka Communion (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0076150), but it was American-made :)
Bad Boy Bubby was a very strange film..... didn;t he cling-film cats as well :(

I thought Bad Boy Bubby was brilliant - an acquired taste yes, but brilliant nonetheless.
Nicholas Hope was superb

There are two video releases of Bad Boy Bubby that I know of, though they may be deleted. I own an Australian release from Roadshow. I once rented the UK release from EIV. I've compared the two - see below.
I don't know of any DVD. This is a pity, the film features a lot of directional sound (much of it recorded by microphones attached to Nicholas Hope's head!) and a DD5.1 soundtrack would be quite something.
The film should be in 2.35:1. The EIV release is 2:1, while the Roadshow is 4:3 pan and scan. This isn't quite as bad as it sounds as like many anamorphic-shot films, Bad Boy Bubby is composed with TV in mind. Both tapes have a Dolby Surround soundtrack.
The Roadshow release (rated R 18+) is uncut. The EIV release (18 certificate) has one BBFC cut. This is 9 minutes in, and removes a shot of Bubby sitting in a chair, tugging at a string which is around a cat's neck. The cat seems to be resisting, so the BBFC must have assumed it was in distress, and cut the scene under the Cinematograph (Animals) Act of 1937. However, this cut also removes the following dialogue:
BUBBY: Where cat from?
MOTHER: Outside.
which is important, as it's the first indication that there is an "outside". There are no other cuts. Before I saw the EIV video I did wonder if some of Norman Kaye's dialogue in the factory scene (which Bubby later repeats, in a scene with Angel's parents) might fall foul of the law of blasphemy and be cut, but it didn't - it's still there.
An extraordinary film, with something to stimulate and/or offend everyone. There's nothing else like it, and I'd certainly buy a DVD if there was one (preferably from Roadshow).
Thanks for the very interesting info Gary
