Eight Legged Freaks
Question:

Folks,
Just wondering did anyone catch Eight Legged Freaks at the cinema and if so what did they think of it. Is is worth a purchase on DVD as it looks like it could be quite funny????

Answers:

I'm a big monster movie fan but i found 'Freaks' to be very dissapointing especially after the excelent trailers. Basicly it's not quite scarey enough, thrilling enough and the scripts just not witty enough.
Nice FX though:)
One to rent. 6/10

Mine arrived last week, and I watched it last night.
I actually really enjoyed it. Not the sacriest film ever, but very enjoyable.

I thought it was ok, nowt special, and like they say not scary at all, if anything its funny, but not that funny.
I can only really recommend this if you really want to see giant spiders running around after people, you won't see people literally getting eaten or anything. :)

You couldn't pay me to get a copy of this! Biggest waste of a few pounds at the cinema watching this trash!

Answers:

Depressingly average and almost singlehandedly sabotaged by the stupid "voices" they gave the spiders.

Answers:

complete trash

People look at it like its some kinda serious hollor flick - it isn't. It's a B Movie - hence why it's so cheesey :)
I loved it - the whole family did. It's sooooo funny :)
Think Tremors, then replace the big worm thing with spiders and u get the kinda silly movie it is :D

I went to see it as a cheesey B Movie. And it failed all every level especially when compared to Tremors or Gremlins (which the film most resembles to me.)

I'm with Mr Stanton - compared to Tremors, Lake Placid or even Anaconda, it was bleedin' awful. Boring too.

Answers:

great SFX, tongue firmly in cheek and highly enjoyable

I havn't seen it yet but i will find out what it is like when the dvd turns this week, yet another blind buy :)

Mr Stanton has nailed it on the head as far as I am concerned with the Gremlins comparison. I just watched it this evening and am usually very forgiving of this type of movie - but it was a big let down in all but the SFX dept. Doesn't come close to Tremors or Lake Placid on any level - it raised a couple of smirks but that is all and the spiders scored 1 on the threatometer, mainly due to the reason Jonathan e mentioned... everything was just so flat.
