Sorry if this has been posted before - couldn't see it.
Anybody had problems with Blade II ?
Haven't played it yet, but a couple of guys in our DVD club have and are having all sorts of picture blocking problems (they've both got Wharfedales).
No probmlem on either my Panasonic RP62S or my Malata 520. Good disc with excellent sound.
The Warfdales do have problems with a few discs though IIRC.
I couldnt play my copy of blade 2 on my computer using Power DVD. It would play on Windows media player!!!! other peoples PC's with PowerDVD but could I get it to work?
Could I buggery..
So I took it back and got a region 4 copy instead.
Which region? The R1 plays fine and dandy on my cheapo Lecson.
The graphics played before the film starts properly are 'stuttery' on my Wharfdale 750 - film itself plays perfectly:)
I have the R2 version and it plays fine in my player and DVD-ROM
On my Toshiba the menus of disc 2 are really, really slow to access options.
I had problems with my 1st R2 disc. It wouldn't even spin up. Replacement worked fine, though. Maybe there is `a bad batch??
Maybe the original poster has a bad disk that got one step beyond my player..??

I have a Wharfedale 750, Blade 2 plays fine!
My Samsung 709 plays the film no problem, but some of the extras and menus are very jumpy and slow.
No problems with the R1 version on my budget Limit player (shame on me - must get around to buying a nice quality DVD player)
no probs with the region 1 version. However if you leave the main menu on screen when the music finishes it doesn't repeat. Not a big deal but not quite right, does it on my samsung 709 and toshiba sde 110

The R1 does the same thing on my Pioneer 525. But there are no other playback/menu problems of any kind.
No probs here with the R1 on my Panny or Pioneer.
Which version is it? Blade 2 R1 works fine on my Wharfedale 750s.

Nowt wrong with either R1 or R2 here..
I had a rental copy which froze on my Sony 905 (bugger!), it wasn't the layer change, it was in the scene where Scud was under attack in the van, just as he scrambles into the front seat. Not an overly complex piece of the film. To rub salt into the wound my old LG 3350e played the whole chapter with out a hitch.

I remember reading about them in my history class, they were used in the middle ages. Extra features include having to rewind the film afterwards and picture break up :)

Thanks for all the replies - sorry it's a R2.
Tried the dodgy chapters on my Toshiba SD 2109 last night and diden't hjave any problems. Big layer change in the middle of chapter 14, but that's usual for my Tosh - maybe that's what's tripping the Wharfdales's up.
yeah i've had a couple of probs. main menu was a bit jittery.
plus a couple of effects sequences had a weird blue effect on them. only happened at the start and don't remember it being like that at the cinema.
the probs were the 1st two kills (the guys on motorbikes) and then the end of the fight scene with the two blood packers in front of those big lights.
gonna take it back and order the R1
