I have to say Bond everytime, having watched xXx last night, it was just like watching old bonds films, very rarely can you beat an original, in this case Bond.



I liked the music and Asia Argento of XXX but Pierce Brosnan kicks Vin Diesel's ass by far, of course. Though once he's done with the role, it'll probably be back to dull, unlikable lead as no one can ever be and fit better than Brosnan.



Bond - Vin Diesel's just a big girls blouse that thinks he's hard cos he's got a couple of tatoos and a sore throat.

Agreed, Vin Diesel's most commendable role so far has been "The Iron Giant", and I suppose Multi Facial is interesting in a :dork: sort of way

Bond, besides, Vin [as seen in the filmwhen he snogs Aria] just can't handle the smoochy stuff, ie: he kisses like a spacehopper.
I thought xXx was more akin to Commando era Arnie, without the humour.

I thought about this and I can't say I enjoyed XXX more or less than any of the recent Bond outings when viewed at the pictures. I remember thinking Goldeneye wasn't very good at all. In comparison XXX's humour/lines were pretty funny, maybe a few films down the line Vin Diesel will have grown into the role, I remember thinking he didn't look as comfortable as when he's supported in the past.



Didn't XXX fall in love with Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me?

Maybe, since "Bond" is (rightly in my opinion) considered by most folks here as the original and best, we should now look to rate the new pretenders to the "thrown" [sic] as they come along periodically with appropriate titles...
ie:
Mission Impossible = "Bond-lite"
Austin Powers = "Bond-a-delic, Baby!"
True Lies = "Bond-bulky"
xXx = "Bond-rad"
Any others I've missed...?
