Question:
This film has two composers, the imdb says that Jones was fired or left due to differences with Mann, and Eldeman finished the score, but did so in a way that you could tell there were two distinct styles. Does anyone know who wrote what when in the film?
Listen to Trevor Jones' Cliffhanger score for some clues.
Would be very unusual if that were the case. Usually if a composer is fired, the entire score is written by someone else, they wouldn't just carry on from where the other composer left off.
The soundtrack album clearly states who composed what - try getting a track listing from the HMV site or something.
Not that unusual. Watched a Victor Mature swords and sandals piece of rubbish the other week on Beeb 2 (I forget the title); one half of the score was by Bernard Herrman, the other by Alfred Newman - 'spot the composer' was the film's only entertainment.
And for Battle of Britain Sir William Walton's score was dumped, save for a small segment, and much to the embarrassment of Ron Goodwin who was brought in to replace him. BTW, I believe Walton's original score will be on the BoB DVD, due to be released soon.

So many films, so little time...

Jones did all the bits with the main theme tune in it, generally all the more exciting stuff during action scenes. The other one did the more nice, gentle stuff. Generally speaking of course. It's a cracking soundtrack.
