A great commentary for anyone interested in low budget filmmaking...
Question:

...Sidewalks of New York (R1 only at the moment I think).
Fabulous commentary from Edward Burns - anyone who is remotely interested in how films get made should check this out ASAP. Very interesting - hard to believe he pulled this off for less than a million bucks (and filmed in Manhattan no less). It's a mini Film School on a disc.
Great film too, so you can't go wrong. Recommended.

I still have my glowing review of this film sitting here collecting dust :D - I loved it and that commentary was excellent!
Brittany Murphy and David Krumholtz are so adorable together :p

oooh! thanks McD
had this on my "wishlist" for ages after dvdfile mentioned it was worth having just for the commentary!
will have to order now!
Is it available cheap anywhere? I've held off buyng 'cause it's been so expensive (relatively!)
I actually want that other Fox boxset of Ed Burns' movies but no-one seems to sell that apart from Amazon. (edit - who also don't seem to anymore :( )

They were my favourite screen couple until Shane West and Mandy Moore came along.
(From the commentary - the film's best scene, Krumholtz crying on the job, was filmed from two or three blocks away! Bleedin' 'eck! Fantastic!)

I have the Canadian disc (from the Classifieds) and it has no French - so best to try one of the cheap Canadian etailers.
Incidentally, the same actor plays two parts in this movie. Incredible - so obvious after Burns mentions it, but I'd never have spotted it in a million years. My appreciation for this film has gone through the roof! Well done, Ed.

Sounds good McD, i've got a million and one Commentaries to go through but i find myself wanting to get this now just to add another to that list.
I've always thought Burns was a good director, 'She's the One' was quite good i thought, OK so it had the Aniston factor but i liked the sibling rivalry in it and the guy who played their Dad was a great actor.
Might just have to put a 'wanted' in the classifieds now :D
