just been watching 'dumbo' on itv and thought i'd start a quick thread with top disney animated films (disney only not pixar).

Snow White is possibly my favourite Disney film!



Beauty and the Beast is he only Disney which I adore and can watch over and over. Just watched it today actually. now these modern day Disneys with pixar - PAH! Bring back proper Disney films!



Although I admire Disney animation a great deal (the style, artistry and technical excellence), I'm not a huge fan of their films (for the most part, I can't stand Disney songs and music!). I do think The Sleeping Beauty is one of their best animated features though.
The most memorable character in the film is the evil fairy/witch Maleficent. Disney also very skillfully used the music from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty.
The final sequences in the film...
...when the Prince (a real cipher in terms of chracterisation!) escapes from Maleficent's castle...
...are still some of the best crafted "action" sequences I have seen.
The currently available DVD version of this film (in the UK) is pan-and-scan, although the film was originally shot in 70mm. Still waiting for the widescreen release!
