One Paul Anderson Too Many
BRITISH director Paul Anderson ("Resident Evil," "Mortal Kombat") is sick of being overshadowed by critical darling Paul Thomas Anderson, the American who helmed "Boogie Nights" and "Magnolia." British Anderson has been forced to bill himself as "Paul W.S. Anderson" to avoid confusion with his better-known nemesis, whom he has never met. "We blame the other Paul Anderson, the pretentious Paul Anderson, for this ludicrous business of our Paul having to add 'WS'," "Resident Evil" producer Jerry Bolt sputtered to the U.K. Guardian.
The British Anderson, tongue firmly in cheek, says he's ready to challenge Paul Thomas Anderson mano a mano to settle their dispute: "I know I can beat him. I have gotten catalogs and magazines meant for him, and he wears very camp, gay clothes. And he looks very small as well." A rep for Paul Thomas Anderson - whose next movie is "Punch-Drunk Love," starring Adam Sandler and Emily Watson - declined to comment.
How can you call him a fool? :oh-hum: You never met him, you don't know what kind of person he is, if you don't like his movies, that's no reason to start flaming threads.
I hate "Home Alone" and "Harry Pothead" movies but I don't go around calling Chris Columbus names, it's just not for me.

AAAAnnnnnnnnybody who can take a quality idea like Resident Evil and turn it into a scare free, predictable piece of celluloidcrap deserves to be called a fool. Maybe if he actually paid attention to the games many great ideas and not stole them from a ton of films (or referrenced them as the IMBD likes to say) he would have created a better movie, not some half-arsed Aliens/Matrix/countless zombie films hybrid.
The sad thing is it actually made money, probably on the games name alone, so hes going to get more freakin work. It had so many great ideas, loads of parallels to play up (House being invaded by team - Workers bodies being invaded by virus, House not what it seems - Family brand Umbrella corp not what they seem - Team not what they seem,etc) things that could have livened up the pedestrian shots of the flick.
Think of the effects they could have used! stunts aplenty and computer generated zombies being ripped to shreds! A cgi Tyrant finale! But no we're given rejects from a Tom Savini make up workshop with a couple of hardly noticable squibs and an unconvincing piece of cgi monster crap. oh and some nudity CROWBARRED in.
Hang your head in shame Anderson. Right now...I mean it!
It's Paul William Stewart Anderson in reality, though I think most of the suggestions above are much better!
